🐜 🧡 COPAL WITH TERMITES INSIDE! 🧡 🐜
I’m really wanting to get more into some amazing pieces of amber and copal in the near future so I thought I’d bring this showstopper into the store this week. This is a real statement piece for collectors. Super duper rare to find this amount of termites trapped inside copal, there’s also a large fly included at the top too!

I’ve focused on a few archeological artefacts this week, pieces of ancient human history which I’ve not put much focus on before, that includes one of the most interesting and unique pieces I’ve ever had instore so far!
A small piece of ancient pottery, carved approx 600BC - 400AD.

Genuine La Tolita Pottery Figurine, Columbia
600 BC - 400 AD
La Tolita Culture inhabited a vast littoral zone in Columbia, including diverse ecological sites from the mouth of the River Emeraldas to the Bay of Buenaventura. The society was highly stratified, with political and religious officials occupying the highest ranks. For those beneath them, everyday subsistence activities were hunting, fishing and gathering of molluscs and plant foods.
This great ceremonial centre in the island of La Tolita was the most important ideological, cultural and economic centre. People visited from various regions to worship the gods, conduct ceremonies and bury their dead. This resulted in the area being an extraordinary site of culture, with artists creating artefacts for the purposes of offerings to the gods, festive attire and funeral apparel.
Goldsmiths produced unique ornaments of gold, silver, platinum, copper and ‘tumbaga’ (an alloy of copper and gold). Carvings were worked from bone and precious stones. The potters of this culture made earthenware jars and ceramic figurines, often showing a distinctive baroque style. This is a genuine pottery fragment from this ancient and important site.

Wow, this weekends wedding was a true highlight, bright tropicals throughout and the venue! Wow! Just a simple bright phalenopsis orchids on each table to complement the surroundings. The tropical glasshouse in Leamington Spa, surrounded by the public Jefferson’s Gardens.
Absolutely stunning. Being asked to be part of such an amazing day is truly an honour. 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️🦜🌺

A poignant moment for me today making a quick pit stop in Burley, the former home of the most famous witch in Britain, Sybil Leek, a local celebrity at the time who wrote more than 60 books on the occult and witchcraft! She would often be seen around the town with her familiar Jackdaw, Hotfoot Jackson on her shoulders. She eventually moved to America where she died in the early 80s, and her former home was turned into a very well known witchcraft shop . Now the whole village is a tiny spiritual haven with multiple witchcraft, spell and crystal shops and even a beautiful homeware store named after her!
I would always remember driving through this littlè village when I was younger with my parents on our way to a Bashley and desperately wanting to go into the village and have a look around, and now I have! Littlè witch for the afternoon! 🧙🏻‍♂️
