Dough Punks turns 2 years old in June!! 🍕🤘🥳

It's been a wild 24 months starting as a project with a very small money transfer off Robbie's Mum's credit card and a crafty discount on an Ooni Volt12 to start a project making pizza at monthly Sessions music night along with Robbie's Dad, who owned the family run venue for 20 years.

In November 2024, Robbie's Dad had a heart attack and so Robbie quit his job as a manager in a charity and kicked his Dad out of the venue so he could recover and retire; Robbie taking on the family business and going full-time with Dough Punks with no previous professional culinary experience, joined soon after by Lauren.

Well, we're still at it!

Not sure Instagram/Facebook will allow us to tag everyone who has supported us over the last 2 years, but to the most excellent humans, businesses, friends we have met along the way and our incredible customers, we continue to be humbled by you and we thank you for supporting our small independent businesses, eating loads of pizza and enjoying what we love to make.

"What sort of pizza do you do mate?"
Part 1: Market Style Pizza.

This is something we get asked quite a lot and we love to talk about it! We do two types of dough and one of them is Neapolitan inspired, which you'll find at our market pop ups - hence the name.

We aim to ferment our dough for at least 24 hours to develop flavour and is easier to digest (pizza science!), using only '00' flour, water, salt and yeast. We then bake these at 400ºC+ in our Roccboxes for around a minute to get a light crust with some gnarly leoparding on them.

This is where the similarities with a classic Neapolitan pie end as we load ours up with plenty of mozzarella, some far out toppings and mix it up with regular new specials, experimenting and creating awesome flavour combinations, topped with our home-made hot honey and other sauces so no crusts get left behind. We also do fresh baked pizzadogs and breakfast panuozzi filled with sausages and bacon.

We aren't part of your system, Naples!

Nahh, we love all pizza, ours just don't play by the rules. No bu****it, no ego, just food we love to make 🤘🍕
