How is it August already? Midsummer magic is in full swing, and the garden is officially showing off! 🌸✨ Here is what’s fresh, bold, and blooming this month:

💙 Hydrangeas – Big, lush, and bringing all the cloud-like drama.
🌸 Alstroemeria – The longevity queens (they just keep going!).
🌼 Zinnias – Pure, cheerful colour overload.
🐝 Echinops – Those globe thistles bring the best texture—and the pollinators are obsessed.
👑 Lilies – Elegant, fragrant, and pure summer showstoppers.

Had a fabulous day collaborating with gorgeous wedding professionals. Really looking forward to seeing some of the gorgeous photos and content.

The theme was a luxury wedding with a colour palette of terracotta, warm orange and autumn tones.

Really loved creating this floral meadow to frame the wedding welcome sign. When everything works together to bring the wedding vision to life there is no better feeling!

When the bride wants pink 🩷

It was a joy making this bridal bouquet to compliment the bride's red wedding outfit.

5 Seasonal Blooms in June

1. Sweet Peas- an English country garden classic! Packed full of fragrancy and delicate petals. Lovely for climbing up a fence or spilling out of a pot. In bouquets these tiny flowers can add a wonderful, natural movement and gently bob above the main shape of the bouquet.

2. Garden Roses- as peony season slowly comes to an end, garden roses really come into their own. Another English country garden staple, roses are a classic for a reason. Their woody stems make great, sturdy and reliable additions to bridal bouquets and buttonholes.

3. Delphinium- An absolute must for any blue themed arrangement- a great line flower to add height as well as a strong blue tone.

4. Stocks- I adore the smell of stocks! They have a peppery smell to them that brings a real freshness to a bouquet. They are also beautifully ruffled which gives the eye so much to take in.

5. Nigella - Another blue flower! Much smaller and more dainty than delphinium. These can provide real pops of blue and can be left to sway freely in a loose and wild bouquet.

May Highlights as a Florist

May has been a busy one, the start of wedding season as well as a heat wave!

I have made some lovely contacts and done a few freelancing jobs this month. It has been fantastic to get to know some other local florists and see them in their element. It is also a fantastic way to learn tips and tricks on the job and get to grips with the reality of big weddings. This is definitely something I hope to continue. Getting to see a finished wedding set up is such a fabulous experience.

This month has also seen a focus on branding. This was something I originally neglected when setting up my business but I have decided that it is time to take it more seriously. I can Rachel a brief of wild, whimsical, natural yet elegant and high-end. I think she did a brilliant job to capture those key concepts of my floristry brand. Now I just need to get round to updating my website!

A 30 celsius wedding is not something I was expecting to manage this early in the year but there is nothing like a heatwave to keep a florist on their toes! It was so lovely to hear from the bride after the big day and she even let me know that the flowers were still going strong the next day!

Another exciting month with some fun plans in line for the weeks to come.

I just love bridal bouquets that feel like they have come straight from the garden 🌿

Full of colour and movement, letting the flowers have their moment. This bridal bouquet was packed with different garden roses as well as daisies and delphinium to give a real range of colours and textures.

Why pick just one colour for your bridal bouquet when you can have them all!

The perfect lighting, the perfect flowers, the perfect day 🌹

Weddings don't have to be stressful- when you have chosen suppliers that understand your vision, it can make all the difference.

My favourite brides are the ones who are relaxed, open to suggestions and willing to trust me. This makes the planning process so much easier and means you get more blooms for your budget! I am all about the relaxed and wild bouquets, the bouquets that have movement and freedom.
