If you’re healing from a difficult relationship, emotional abuse, or just trying to feel like you again… this page is for you.

Here’s the truth: you don’t have to wait until you feel ready. You can start small, today.

6 Things You Can Do Right Now to Begin Your Healing Journey:
1. Name it – This happened. You are allowed to acknowledge it.
2. Move gently – Movement helps release stored emotion. It doesn’t have to be intense.
3. Seek safety – Healing happens in relationship. One safe person is enough.
4. Set a small boundary – Boundaries signal to your body that you’re safe now.
5. Limit triggers – You are allowed to mute, unfollow, avoid and protect your peace.
6. Rest – Rest is not lazy. It’s essential. Your body needs recovery, not punishment.

At The Dandelion Project, we offer trauma-aware support through movement and connection.

Our Survivor Steps programme is created specifically for people like you – those looking for a gentle, empowering way back to themselves.

For so many women, movement isn’t just physical—it’s emotional.

It’s the moment something clicks. The moment your body says “I’m safe now”.

It’s not about being a dancer. It’s not about telling your story.

It’s about feeling again. Trusting again. Reconnecting to you.

If you’ve been through a tough relationship…
If you’re still carrying the weight of things you can’t quite name…
If you’re tired of feeling like a version of yourself you don’t recognise…

This programme is for you.Survivor Steps is a free, 6-week movement and recovery programme for women who’ve experienced emotional harm, toxic relationships, or painful breakups.

No pressure. No judgment. Just gentle support and space to rebuild.

Our next course starts 2nd May in Colchester.

I need to apologise.

I realise I haven’t been clear enough
Our classes, our programmes, this whole project…
they’re for you — even if you don’t call yourself a “survivor.”

Maybe he didn’t hit you.
Maybe you still question whether it “counts.”
Maybe it was just shouting. Silent treatment.
Maybe you lost yourself, slowly.
Felt like you were walking on eggshells.
Kept shrinking to keep the peace.
Stopped trusting your gut.

You don’t need a label to say
“This hurt me.”

You’re welcome here if you’ve ever felt trapped, ever doubted your worth,
ever stayed when it wasn’t safe — emotionally, mentally, physically.

You’re welcome if you’ve had a narcissistic ex.
If your healing journey feels messy.
If you’ve never told a soul.

You’re welcome here.
And I’m sorry I didn’t say that louder, sooner.

This space is for you.
You’re not too broken. You’re not too late.
And you don’t need permission to begin again.

Abbie’s story isn’t just about surviving—it’s about rediscovering strength, confidence, and trust in herself after trauma.

She felt disconnected, stuck, and overwhelmed—until she found healing through movement. Step by step, she began to reclaim her body, her emotions, and her power.

✨ Self-care is a radical act of resilience. ✨

Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish—it’s how you reclaim your energy and power. Healing doesn’t just happen in big moments; it happens in the quiet, simple acts of self-kindness.

đź’› Take a deep breath.
đź’› Make a warm cup of tea.
💛 Move your body, even if it’s just stretching.
đź’› Step outside for a few minutes of fresh air.

Your healing matters. Your peace matters. YOU matter.

Movement has always been my language - a way to express what words sometimes can't.

It's why Survivor Steps exists and why we’re so passionate about using dance and movement to help survivors of domestic abuse rebuild trust, confidence and resilience.

In our latest blog, our founder, Fi Bool’s explore how movement can be a tool for healing, allowing emotions to be processed in a way that feels safe and empowering.

She shines a light on some of Be More Dandelion: The Dandelion Project recent work that featured in Healthwatch Essex Trauma Exhibition at The Minories and is currently on display University of Suffolk.

Movement isn't just exercise for physical health, it isn't solely for your mental health. It goes far beyond this. A way to reclaim your body, your story and your strength.

Confidence after trauma is possible. Here’s how:

✔️ Acknowledge Your Strength – You’ve already survived 100% of your hardest days.

✔️ Move With Intention – Healing happens in the body. Dance, stretch, breathe deeply.

✔️ Reclaim Your Narrative – Your story does not define you. YOU define your story.

✔️ Find Your Support Circle – Healing is easier when you’re not alone.

✔️ Keep Showing Up – Healing isn’t linear, but every step forward matters.

💬 Which step are you focusing on today? Let’s talk in the comments!
