Over a year on and I've been sent these fabulous photos from a wedding last June. The bride was in a beautiful red dress and flowers were a riot of everything in bloom!

The bride and I actually went to school together for A-levels so it was wonderful to reconnect and I felt truly honoured to be a part of her and her husband's special day!

I absolutely LOVE this car ๐Ÿ˜ so it definitely deserved a place on the grid!

Daffodils

People think they're boring but I love these little cheerful heads. I planted thousands in the autumn and we have been enjoying them the last couple of weeks!

Even if you don't grow for cutting, they're fabulous in a garden or even in pots.

I'll hopefully be adding more again this year!

We've talked about the bouquet, here are the buttonholes!

Perfect little narcissi "bridal crown" were centre stage. I trialled a LOT of blooms for these spring buttonholes and used those that held up the best.

All buttonholes were finished with ribbon and a pearl headed pin. These were in the colour "eucalyptus" which went beautifully with the gents suits.

M & P - The Bridal Bouquet

What a wedding! I met our lovely bride at one of my Christmas wreath workshops with her mum back in 2023. We briefly talked wedding flowers then and I loved their vision for the day!

Fast forward to this weekend and all those months of planning came to fruition. Planning a wedding in March can throw up multiple challenges.... What if there's a storm? What if it snows? What if it's -10 degrees and all the arrangements freeze?! What if there are 70mph gusts and the milk churn arrangements try and take flight?!!

I planned for every eventuality and in the end it was 13 degrees with clear blue skies and beautiful sunshine.

Flowers were seasonal and stunning. The bridal party embraced pastels whilst we used bursts of colour in the milk churns and urn. The families opted for our buckets to decorate the venue and the super talented mother of the bride potted up spring bulbs.

I'm really familiar with the church and village so it was such a delight to be included in this special day.

Congratulations! ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐ŸŽฉ

Well, happy new year!

Is it too late to say it?! We have had a lovely festive season and enjoyed some much needed down time. My nursing continues and I'm early at the end of the first of 2 modules ๐Ÿคช

Flower wise, the ranunculus are ready to plant out in the polytunnel. The beds are germinating weeds like there is no tomorrow so I'm going to rip them all out before reusing our plastic and planting the ranuncs out.

Bulbs are popping up around the hut, I can't wait to see how it looks once they've all come into bloom!

Planting wise; it's too early to start any seeds other than sweet peas. I'll be doing mine soon, keep an eye on stories ๐ŸŒฑ the other hardy annuals will be sown from mid Feb onwards, watch this space!

Roses need cutting back and I'm planning dahlias for this year. Jan is the time to get buying otherwise you miss out on all the popular ones! What's on your grow list this year?

Thank you so much to everyone who attended one of our wreath workshops this weekend. We had a fabulous time and hope you did too! We love that we are becoming part of so many family traditions and seeing multiple generations attend is such a joy.
See you again next year!

As the nights draw in, our season slows.

I love autumn. We got married in October nearly 13 years ago and it's always been one of my favourite seasons. The bulbs will be arriving soon and then we will be taking the time to hide for a short time (or in my case, be busy studying!).

The dahlias will continue until the first frosts and then the field will be pretty sparse.

Thank you for all the wreath bookings! I need to double check with a couple of people but I think all spaces are now gone!

I hope you're having a lovely week ๐Ÿ’

I haven't grown any gourds this year, I must remember to next autumn! ๐ŸŽƒ

I've removed the fancy boot on my ankle and ditched the crutches. I've had some physio and am trying to get back into the field but it feels like it's taking forever!

My bulbs are ordered and ranunculus are on their way. Ranuncs will be started in October and bulbs going in after.

I haven't yet opened bookings for winter wreath workshops but I'll keep you posted!

I need to clear the polytunnel and then it will be seed sowing time. Keep an eye on stories to see what I'm starting first ๐ŸŒฑ

One of my favourite things to do is a gift bouquet.

100% home grown ๐Ÿ’
100% compostable ๐Ÿ’

I loved picking all the brights including these lovely scabious and zinnias! Hot weather lovers, they've coped with the lack of rain admirably.

Plans for tomorrow, seed shop is opening! I'll be grabbing some packets ready for next growing season. My previous purchases have been fabulous with amazing germination. Top of my list will be the notoriously difficult to grow colibri poppies. I want to give myself the best chance of success with super fresh seed.

I did the viral "chatgpt" review of my page... It told me it was too pastel so here I am, popping some colour on the grid!

Turns out the ankle is broken so I'm hobbling about in a boot keeping 3 kiddos entertained from home. We are all going slightly crazy but thankful for the space we have for them to run about. I loved cutting this bucket including these fabulous zinnias, even if it took forever ๐Ÿ˜ด

The thistles are ridiculous, the weeds are insane. I'm trying not to panic about it all and am making plans for the next growing season instead.

What am I doing?

Ordering spring bulbs
Ensuring all my hardy annuals are ready to sow when my ankle is up to it!
Choosing ranunculus varieties ready for next spring
Reviewing my accounts ๐Ÿฅฑ
Assessing what grew well and what didn't
Spreadsheets for everything!
Planning more trees
Planning more perennials
Preparing for my post grad nursing course ๐Ÿค“

Enjoy your bank holiday weekend ๐ŸŽŠ
