From taking the show to the Edinburgh Fringe, performing in a bigger venue across more nights, receiving fantastic reviews and awards, and hearing such wonderful feedback from audiences — we couldn’t be more proud of what the cast have achieved.

HELEN SHAPIRO, THE BEATLES & A STORY YOU MAY NOT KNOW…

Before The Beatles became one of the biggest bands in the world, they were actually the support act on Helen Shapiro’s tour.

And that’s just one of the remarkable chapters in the story behind Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back.

Helen was just 15 years old when she shot to fame, scoring multiple huge hits and becoming one of Britain’s biggest young stars. Our production follows her extraordinary rise, the pressures of sudden fame, her music and the people around her — all brought to life through live performance, storytelling and some of the unforgettable songs of the era.

At the heart of the show is 15-year-old Lily B Martin, performing the role of Helen — the same age Helen was when she became a star.

After the incredible response at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, we’re now bringing the show to Dundee, Kirkcaldy and Strathmiglo.

After an incredible Edinburgh Fringe run, we’re absolutely delighted to announce that Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back is continuing with three special performances in Dundee, Kirkcaldy and Strathmiglo.

And what a way to come out of Edinburgh.

This year we performed in a much bigger venue, with more nights and more seats available, and finished just 1.5% away from a complete sell-out.

Considering the scale of the production, the size of the venue and the number of performances, we honestly couldn’t be happier with the response. ❤️

After what has been an incredible Edinburgh Fringe for Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back, we honestly weren’t expecting quite the response we received.

We were completely blown away by the audience reaction, the reviews, the support and the incredible feedback throughout the run. We also had so many people asking us:

🏆 AND ANOTHER AWARD FOR WALKIN’ BACK! 🏆

Just when we thought we couldn’t have any more lovely surprises after the Fringe… another award! ❤️

This time, it’s from the Fringe Theatre Awards — and this is different from the star-rating reviews we’ve shared previously. This is an actual Fringe award recognising productions at the festival, which is very special.

We’re incredibly proud that Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back has been recognised, particularly after such an amazing response from audiences throughout our run.

For our cast and entire production team, these awards are a wonderful acknowledgement of all the hard work, dedication, passion and talent that went into bringing the show to the Edinburgh Fringe.

We might have finished the run, but the memories and recognition just keep coming! ❤️🎭

⭐️ A LITTLE SOMETHING TO CHASE AWAY THOSE POST-SHOW BLUES… ⭐️

We’re absolutely delighted to share another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back — this time from the Derek Awards!

We actually had the pleasure of meeting Derek on Saturday night, and he explained how their awards work. The Derek Awards have been running for 16 years, with around 400 anonymous assessors covering productions across the UK.

Derek told us that Walkin’ Back scored very highly with his assessors, which is fantastic to hear.

At the Edinburgh Fringe, the Derek Awards specialise in “pull quote” style reviews, giving performers and productions a great quote they can use on posters, flyers and future marketing.

And this is the quote they gave us…
