From here, the days begin to lengthen, and the light slowly takes hold.

It’s a time that has long been marked — quietly, seasonally — as a point of change.

In my work as a celebrant, I see how important it is to pause and acknowledge these moments.
Not just the big occasions, but the quieter turning points too.

Whether it’s a wedding, a naming, or a farewell, there is something deeply meaningful in marking where we are, and what is beginning.

No need to rush it.
This is the start of the season, not its height.

A Fallen Limb
A limb has fallen from the family tree
I hear a voice that whispers, ‘Grieve not for me’
Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs
The good I lived while I was strong
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you
Keep on smiling, the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest
Remembering all…how I was truly blessed
Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your lives, don’t stare at the wall

✨ A Personal Update ✨

Some of you may have noticed my absence recently. In June I had a bad dose of COVID, followed by Lyme disease. Though it was tough, I now see it as a blessing — it gave me the chance to pause, reflect, and re-evaluate what truly matters.

I’m so grateful to now be fully recovered and raring to go! I enjoyed being gentle with myself: I watched more TV than I ever have, listened to wonderful podcasts, popped over to see my cousin in Clonmel, and even dipped my toe back into Irish Gaelic — the language I heard as a child in Donegal. But what I truly missed was helping others.

Whether I’m honouring a loved one’s memory with a heartfelt funeral, creating a couple-centred celebrant ceremony, or welcoming a new life with a naming day, I treat every family as if you were my own — because we are all indigenous to this beautiful planet. My Irish, English and French heritage has shaped my worldview and brings warmth, inclusivity and compassion to every ceremony.
