What a whirlwind the last 24 hours have been! At the end of March, I had the privilege of being the Officiant for the funeral of Sandra Burnell. This woman had a quirky sense of humour and a zest for life. She also had a deep love for Pot Noodles! The wonderful Kirsty (Kirsty Sailes Independent Funeral Directors) posted about Sandra’s Pot Noodle themed service on Facebook, and it was picked up by several news agencies! A story about it appeared in the Sun this morning. This afternoon, I spoke with Jeremy Vine on BBC 2 about it, and I’ve just spoken with James from BBC Wales who is doing an online story about it. I’d never have guessed it would have gone this far!
Truly, though, I am so grateful for these families who allow me to travel with them as they grieve and remember their loved ones. I also love working with a funeral director who goes out of her way to make services personal and memorable.
