Tonight we took the birds out training 🕊️🤍

As we came back down the bypass, I looked up and said to Pidge, “Oh look, there’s a lot of pigeons!”

He slowed down to have a look and said…

“THAT’S OURS!!!” 😂🕊️

Honestly, it was SO exciting! It was almost like we were in a race with them — watching them flying along, knowing they were heading home. 🥹

Spoiler alert… they still beat us home! 😂🏁🕊️

And now it’s dinner time! They soon came crowding around the feeding jug when Pidge called them in.

These birds absolutely LOVE home, that’s for sure. 🤍🏠🕊️

Yesterday, Leigh & Lisa were married at the beautiful Slad Church 🤍🕊️

But waiting outside was a very special surprise, thoughtfully organised by Leigh’s mum, a Dove Release in memory of Leigh’s late dad, Tony.

When Leigh was a child, Tony gifted him Doves. So to have Doves return to mark such an important moment in Leigh’s life was an incredibly fitting and deeply meaningful tribute to his dad. 🤍

The church itself presented a few challenges for us, with very tall trees surrounding the venue and telephone wires nearby. Our absolute priority is always the safety of our birds, so we had to position ourselves in the safest possible place for their liberation. Due to the surrounding our Doves took a little extra time before taking flight, as they too ensure they have a clear view to take flight.

Unfortunately, not every guest had a clear view, but as this was a surprise gift for Leigh & Lisa, the most important thing was that we could carry out the release safely and make it a beautiful moment for the couple.

A truly special tribute, filled with love, memories and meaning. 🕊️🤍

Today was an incredibly special and emotional release for us at Cotswolds White Wings.

We were honoured to provide a ceremonial dove release for the Year 6 leavers of St Mark’s Primary School, celebrating the children as they prepare to spread their wings and begin the next chapter of their journey.

As a parent of one of the Year 6 pupils myself, this release held an even deeper meaning. Watching the birds soar into the sky felt like the perfect symbol of parenthood. We spend years holding our children’s hands, guiding them, protecting them and helping them grow… and before we know it, they gently slip through our fingers, becoming the kind, capable and beautiful young people they were always meant to be.

To all the Year 6 children, may you fly with confidence, embrace every opportunity and never forget where your journey began.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Your future is waiting, and it’s full of endless possibilities. 🤍🕊️

Sometimes our doves don’t rush to leave their basket.

Instead, they’ll pause for a moment, staying close to the family before taking flight. Maybe they’re simply taking in their surroundings… or maybe they’re giving you those few extra seconds to say everything that’s still in your heart.

We’ll never really know.

What we do know is that a dove release can be a beautiful part of the healing journey. As they take to the sky, many families find comfort in sending a final message of love, gratitude, or remembrance through our beautiful birds.

Sometimes, all we need is one quiet moment to let our hearts speak. 🤍🕊️

Here’s the evidence. One very happy dove, choosing freedom… and then choosing to come home again. 🤍🕊️

Our birds are expertly trained, well cared for, and always know where home is. We just get the privilege of watching them create a beautiful moment along the way.
