Where Inspiration Blooms

Where Inspiration Blooms Welcome! Our classes include pottery, art, craft, horticulture and wellbeing.

We're Jules & Caroline and we run workshops, with the help of a wonderful community of local teachers from a beautiful listed Pavilion near Amersham in Buckinghamshire.

It is my absolute pleasure to introduce our Bucks Art Weeks 2026 collective of 20 artists, artisans and makers.
That's 40 hands that I suspect are busy this evening finalising pieces, framing, pricing and packing crates ahead of set-up day on Friday.

We will be open to visitors daily from 6–14 June, and it would be wonderful if you could pop in and see us during that time. Seeing visitors enjoy the exhibition makes all the hours of preparation worthwhile.

Our exhibition has been carefully curated for everyone to enjoy—you definitely don't need to be 'arty'. With such a wide variety of styles, materials and creative approaches on display, I promise there will be something to capture your imagination.

Swipe through to meet this year's exhibitors and discover a few of the other treats we've got planned and stay tuned over the next week as I share the behind-the-scenes of setting up the event and, no doubt, a significant amount of creative craziness!

One of the things I love the most about Where Inspiration Blooms is the opportunity it gives us to support new artists or workshop teachers.

It's a massively brave thing to do, to scale back or give up the 9 to 5 to focus on your art more and over the last 8 years we have seen both the struggles and successes of a lot if super talented people.
midwood is one such creative...already established in her field as a wildlife and pet artist it is a real pleasure to now be hosting her beautiful bumble bee workshop. The WIB team were fortunate enough to have joined one of her classes in early Spring and it was an absolute cracker!

Rosie's design is gorgeous and machine embroidering is way more therapeutic than you'd imagine... once you hit the 'flow zone' the gentle movement of the embroidery hoop becomes very natural and before you know it you've created your own mini masterpiece!! I highly recommend it.

We can squeeze 2 more sewing machines in now that we are all moved and know where we are at so do join us if you fancy a lovely calm start to your weekend. We can always lend you a machine if you've not got one...plus you get to do some test machine embroidery first off so plenty of time to find your groove.

You'll be buzzing with pride by the end... 😉 🐝

It's a very big week for us all this week at Where Inspiration Blooms.

Not only is this the week that we are moving everything across from The Studio to The Pavilion (and selling off everything that won't fit🤪)...but up and down the country (and in mine and Claire's house) it is the start of the dreaded GCSEs.

It sounds like the recipe for a perfectly calm and creative week right 🤣🤣🤯?

In reality I think it's probably a really good opportunity for me to put my money where my mouth is and test if creativity in times of stress is
a) actually helpful
b) calming
and c) even vaguely possible!!!

I will let you know *gulp

In the meantime we are sending huge waves of calm to anyone in a GCSE household this year...and sharing a delicious piccy of the elderflower and lemon cake that Claire surprised me with for my flowery classes at the weekend.

It's much needed...cake fixes way more than I like to admit and let's face it we all need a slice of sanity now and then😃

LAST CALL for tomorrow morning’s flower pressing workshop!

We’ve got just a couple of spaces left for what feels like the most perfect way to spend a spring morning.

As the hedgerows are starting to burst into bloom, we’ll begin with a gentle walk across the fields to the beautiful Walled Garden on the Penn Estate, through a little stretch of ancient woodland and into the gardens themselves where we’ll forage for seasonal flowers, wild grasses and botanicals to press and preserve. There will definitely be cow parsley involved — my absolute favourite thing to press at this time of year.

Back at The Pavilion I’ll share all my favourite techniques for pressing and drying flowers, grasses and even seaweeds, from traditional flower presses to surprisingly brilliant microwave presses! We’ll talk about which flowers behave beautifully, which ones stubbornly refuse to cooperate, and all the little tricks I’ve learnt over the years preserving flowers from the Chiltern Hills for the last 40 odd years!!

There’ll also be homemade lemon & elderflower cake topped with edible flowers which Claire has very kindly made specially for the class... plus coffee, and plenty of time to chat about creative ways to preserve and use nature’s bounty long after the season has passed.

Please message me if you’d like one of the last spaces.

We’re thrilled to announce that our family and teen pottery workshops are now online and ready for booking! Most sessions take place during half-term and the summer holidays, creating the perfect opportunity to spend quality, creative time together— whether you’re looking to bond as a family, or just try something new and hands-on. For teens especially, working with clay offers a calming escape from screens and busy routines, encouraging mindfulness and boosting mental well-being. The tactile nature of clay connects us to the present moment, sparking creativity and providing a sense of achievement as you shape something unique with your own hands. Don’t miss our special family workshop in term time on the 16th of May, and get ready for our after-school teen course starting the 30th of May. Book your place and discover the joy of making!

There is some brilliant art on show this weekend across the Chilterns. If, like me, you have spent most of your weekend taking advantage of that big burst of Saturday rain and have been up to your eyes in garden or housey jobs then today could be a good day to treat yourself to a change of pace and some inspiration. Afterall a decent boost of creativity will make you more productive, balanced and calm for the 4-day week ahead (that's what I'm telling myself anyway!).

Also take the kids! Take the whole family! My boys usually go kicking and screaming to these things but they always find something that catches their eye when they are there... if only we had a local painter who specialised in football ground oil paintings 🤣

To make your choice of what to visit even easier I've popped a summary below...

have their annual Spring Showcase in Beaconsfield - it's free to enter and has some of the counties best artists work on show

has 36 stunning venues opening their doors, some of which you wouldn't normally get to see...well worth exploring if you fancy a couple of hours out

are at Bradenham Farm in a stunning old Barn...and I'm pretty sure I saw the words Morris Dancers on one of their posters 😀

has begun and runs until 25th May...with a handful of groups of exhibitors not far from us

And last but by no means least in Chesham has a really unique abstract exhibition which i was very grateful to have been invited to see on their preview evening a couple of weeks ago.

That should be enough to get your creativite inspiration flowing surely 😉

A final shout out to our past and present bucks art weeks exhibitors some of whom have spent the last 2 days on their feet sharing their work, their methods and their unique creative talents with members of the public... wishing you a really busy, joyful and fun day today xx
