As for this family, I have run over 5 linked weddings alone and 2 other events.

Being asked back is always a pleasure, but it is also confirmation that what I do is right and really makes a difference to a couple's wedding day.

So let's find out how I can make difference for you.

For many events to be a success, they require swift but subtle movement of people to be in the right place at the right time.

That's where I come in. Guiding people with a firm hand but a smile. Personable but commanding when necessary and giving the hosts and organisers confidence to relax at their own event.

I've been called many things as a wedding MC/Toastmaster (all positive I might add), but two things stand out the most.

"We were able to relax and enjoy our day more than we would have because of James," and "He was the best value of any item we spent on our wedding day. He himself was not only great value, but got us the best value out of our other suppliers too."

Simples.... get an experienced MC or Toastmaster to make you look good and to guide you through the whole event.

It may be your first, but with over 1100 events now behind me, I can assure you it isn't mine!

Whatever, your event it helps to have a happy, smiley, person watching the clock and making sure everyone is well informed and where they need to be, when they need to be, to ensure everything runs as close to scheduled time as possible.

That will be me then..... among my other duties!

For those who know me, you will know I work extensively throughout the City of London running both formal and less formal events of all kinds in my role as host/toastmaster and more frequently charity auctioneer.

You might think the City is only for "old people!"

How wrong you are. If you are over the age of 18 but under the age of 40 becoming a member of the Guild of Young Freemen is the best way of getting involved in the City. Who knows you might go on to become Lord Mayor!

Congratulations to Captain Chris Groves who became the Master of the Worshipful Company of Tinplate Workers alias Wire Workers of the City of London yesterday evening following his installation at Mansion House.

The installation court was followed by a wonderful banquet which included many Submariners, including Sir Tim McClement who was the guest speaker.

Representing the Lord Mayor of the City, was Alderman Michael Mainelli who managed, as ever, to include much humour into his speech as he addressed the room.

The evening was a resounding success and my thanks to the Company Clerk, Neil Lyon, and the Mansion House team for creating and helping me carry out the evening in such a great way.

So following the lovely ceremony and waffles at the Norwegian Church mentioned in my previous post, it was back onto the Routemaster and a swiftish return to Blackheath and to the where the reception and wedding breakfast were to take place.

The evening was one of joy, good humour, speeches and did I mention Karaoke! Needless to say I had to have a go!

The cake from Let Them Eat Cakes was delicious as was the food and attentive service from all the team was terrific.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my particular thanks must go to for his swift photography and company on the day. Having seen some of the pictures he took, I know that Mark and Trudie will not be disappointed.

And finally, Mark and Trudie were amazing, laughing (and singing) all afternoon and good not have been easier to work with.

What a wonderful place to get married. The oh so welcoming St Olav's Norwegian Church, Rotherhithe.

A beautiful ceremony led by the pastor, and waffles and coffee as is the tradition in Norway followed.

Best of all we must have done something right as the rain departed leaving us with the perfect conditions for group photos which were taken with efficiency and enthusiasm by .

Another incredible evening with , this time trying to raise funds for Misto Dobra (City of Goodness) in Chernivsti which is currently Ukraine's largest women and children's shelter.

There was beautiful music from , some live portraits by Odesa illustrator Katerina Kyslytska as well as some wonderful auction prizes.

However, the highlights for me were not only seeing the friends I have made over the last few years including Mr Flat Red himself and who was the main organiser of the evening, but also meeting Ed Scott who has to be one of the most inspirational young men I have ever met.

Ed who was working as an aid worker evacuating civilians as well as delivering aid to the front lines was caught in a drone attack which which left him without both limbs on his left side. It did not leave him without his incredible positive mental attitude.

The attack happened at the end of January and now only 5 months later with a new leg (the arm is on its way) he is already talking about his experiences and how the various charities really do make a difference.

An incredible young man.

So please keep supporting and Slava Ukraini.

Sometimes you meet people in life who share your values of decency, ceremony and dare I say stupidity!

Life isn't a game, but no-one said you should not try and enjoy yourself along the way.

To my colleague let's keep working hard but continue to enjoy those few silly moments that make life worthwhile.
