Good morning from FPW HQ on Monday April 28th 2025.
As some of you may know both Matt and Lee have decided to step aside as part of the team at FPW leaving myself Steve HD Evans now as the sole person representing the team.

However, over the last 6 months I have myself been battling with ill health and was recently admitted to hospital.

The reason for my admittance to hospital was due to Osteomyelitis (bone infection) in my left foot, this meant a 1 week stay in hospital, and now up to potentially 6 months of antibiotics given both through a PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) line in my arm and then oral antibiotics to follow, however if the antibiotics do not work then I may have to have a partial amputation of my left foot.

With this in mind and a heavy heart I must announce that FPW will be going on a brief hiatus, this will be temporary but means that the shows we had planned for May will be delayed.

The current plan will be for FPW to make a come back in October of 2025, for 3 shows over one weekend, and then in 2026 with shows in February, May, July and October with again 3 shows in those months over 1 weekend, these will take place in Crawley, Carshalton and one other venue to be announced in the coming months.

For now I need to concentrate on getting better, supporting my family in the best way possible over this period of time and hope that everyone connected with FPW including all the talented performers, referees, support team, volunteers and our loyal fanbase look forward to welcoming FPW back for the planned October dates, these will be announced once everything is confirmed with the talent, venues and local councils in good time.

Good evening to all people looking to attend this Sunday's FPW March Mayhem show, please note that Ifield Community College have decided to cancel the event at the school, however thanks to the team at School Hire we have managed to secure the North Hall at Hazelwick School instead.

Hello everyone. It’s Matt here. I just wanted to let you know that the March 9th Reloaded show will be my last as ring announcer. After 14 years (give or take) It’s time to let someone else have an opportunity at ring announcing and enjoy working in front of you amazing people. FPW continues but I’ll be stepping aside.

I’ve had so many incredible experiences and met some truly inspiring people as a result of working in the British Wrestling scene.

Thanks to Steve for having the idea in the first place and asking me to do it. You’ll never know how much that meant. Thanks to Lee for putting up with my questioning of every decision and being picky with every poster.

Thanks to the men and women back stage and front of house who continue to give up their time to put up lighting rigs, speakers, rings, put out chairs, take photos, film shows, do commentary, sell burgers, sweep the floors and 100 other tasks. Thanks to my entire super patient family. You’ve been the very definition of teamwork, love and support. You’ve propped me up many times and never let me fall.

Thanks to the podcasters, journalists and writers who continue to cover us and spread the word. Thanks to the men and women who have laced up their boots, stepped through that curtain and into the ring to entertain the masses and take us all on a journey. You are a special group of humans who risk your health to entertain us, help people escape and get lost in your stories.

And lastly, thanks to you. The FPW fans. You’ve changed my life, given me confidence and invaluable experience, taught me lessons and always willed me on to do better. Thanks for cheering, laughing, singing, standing, clapping, booing, jeering and always giving it to me when the mic cuts out for no reason.

It’s been a ride for sure. I’ve said these a bunch of times but I’ll leave you with three lessons told to me by people far smarter than I am that really made a difference.

“Talk less. Wear a suit”

“Nobody ever bought a ticket to watch you fail”

I hope to see you all on March 9th to say so long. Not for a goodbye of course. I’ll be following along and I’ll see you around.
