Smokie Fest returns to Arbroath on Sunday 6 September, bringing a fantastic afternoon of local flavour, heritage and family-friendly fun to the Signal Tower Museum.

Look out for cooking demonstrations, workshops, entertainment, local food and drink producers, crafts and opportunities to discover the story behind Arbroath’s world-famous delicacy.

Entry is free, with some optional experiences requiring advance booking.

Fancy joining the team at **Fallone’s Pizzas & Gelato?**

We’re looking for a Line Cook to join our small, friendly, family-based team at our busy pizza kitchen in Carnoustie.

👨‍🍳 THE ROLE

You’ll be helping us produce our range of pizzas, with duties including:

🍕 Pizza preparation & topping
🔪 General food preparation
📦 Packaging finished products
🧹 Cleaning & keeping the kitchen organised
🤝 Working alongside our small production team

*No previous kitchen experience? No problem.*

Experience would be a bonus, but it’s **not essential as full training will be provided**. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, enjoys being part of a team and isn’t afraid to get stuck in!

🗓 Tuesdays & Wednesdays
⏰ Flexible shift hours – could work well for parents looking for shifts around school drop off hours e.g. 9:30 - 3:30
➕Additional shifts/hours may be available for the right person

This weekend saw us a little bit further afield than usual. We catered the wedding of C&C at Barns Walled Garden outside Peebles.

With the bride’s connections to Italy it was exciting discussing and planning the menu.

A beautiful day with lovely people.

When we made our very first pizzas nearly 10 years ago, we named two of them Sofia and Giulia, after our daughters. Almost a decade later, you’ll still find both on our menu and in shops across the area.

What you might not know is that we continued this tradition, naming many of our special pizzas after members of our Italian family: Michele, Felice, Filomena, Antonio, Carolina, Serafina, Carmela, Paola, Rosina and others.

Every name means something special to us. They honour family members who helped shape our story, many of whom were part of our family’s proud history of Italian cafés and fish and chip shops.

Today, that family tradition continues. Both of our daughters and our nephew now play an active role in the business, helping with weekly catering, wholesale production and hospitality.

That’s why it means so much to us to be recognised as a finalist in the Family Business category at this year’s Courier Business Awards! 🏆

We’re incredibly proud and excited—and we can’t wait to bring everyone who works so hard behind the scenes together for a very well-deserved night out! 🇮🇹🍕❤️
