This Saturday! 📆

Last year's hit Black British Folk Takeover returns for a second edition THIS SATURDAY, in partnership with the Black British Folk Collective and curated by Angeline Morrison Music.

Let us introduce two more of the incredible artists on the line-up...

🇧🇮
Muco aka Book Of Voices is a singer, songwriter and composer of British-Burundian heritage whose music is inspired by a love of language, storytelling & history. Through his reimaginings of medieval folk songs in Middle and Old English, Muco has cultivated a passionate audience with his unique interpretations. In these performances, he uses his voice and the inanga, a Burundian zither, and has been studying long, epic Burundian ballads known as whisper songs that his great-grandfather sang and accompanied on his inanga.

🇯🇲 Linett Kamala is a DJ, artist educator, Notting Hill Carnival Board Director and founder of LIN KAM ART who is reinventing traditional maypole dancing by adding LED lights as ribbons and Jamaican dancehall beats played through a fully integrated sound system. Hear her story live in conversation and get involved in a Jamaican Maypole workshop!

Also featuring Andrew Baird, Hamilton Gross and Angeline Morrison, Island Girl and Daudi Matsiko, as well as a folk club and maypole workshop to get involved in.
