Muchwood Green Burial Ground Muchwood is a woodland resting place for lovers of nature and wildlife in Ramsey Cambs. WLT partners We also offer a plan ahead option.

Muchwood offers woodland plots for full burials, ash interments and for the scattering of ashes. Each plot includes a memorial tree and recycled oak name plaque. By purchasing your plot now, this gives you the peace of mind that your final resting place is all in order for whenever it is required. We welcome any religion or non-religious beliefs.

Adorable little ones and beautiful flowers at last weeks ash interment. Allowing children to attend and be part of a funeral service at Muchwood softens the harshness of the situation. It prepares them for loss later on in life and shows them that although there’s sadness there’s also beauty in nature and this can be a great comfort when grieving. 💚

Funeral flower tributes are renowned for their use of single use plastics. Oasis foam, plastic trays and wrapping have been commonplace over the years. But as we are becoming more aware of the impact these have on our environment, and consequently our wildlife and our health, we are gradually moving away from using so much. Many florists are now offering alternatives and for the first time, sustainable funeral flowers were included on a stand at this years RHS Chelsea Flower Show - and won a gold medal. In February we had a day when volunteers from our partners The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridge Northamptonshire came to help us plant 700 Hawthorn whips to create a boundary hedge on the field that forms the extension of the site. It was a cold wet day and the land was very saturated. Fast forward a few months and the warm weather means that without continual watering these whips will not survive. Watering cans just won’t do for this mission so Muchwood director Chris bought in the lorry, for the 4th time so far, to give them a good soaking. This job will need doing regularly over the summer and is just a small part of the ongoing maintenance of the site to ensure it is a thriving, nature rich place to remember loved ones. ❤️

Every so often we cut back some of the thickest brambles to allow for more space. But we leave enough for the habitat of our wildlife. Even though they nibble our trees and plants, we love seeing the deer and rabbits running freely. 💚
