A historic day indeed ...Well done parliament for taking the hardest of first steps to a much needed change.

As a Humanist Ceremonies funeral celebrant I regularly hear of the unbearable suffering that loved ones had to endure during their final days, most of whom wished more than anything for death to have come quicker to end their distress.

Life is precious, life is joyful ... I'm so grateful to know that sometime soon we will get to choose for life not to be overshadowed by a tormenting and painful death.

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill has passed its Second Reading.

A historic first step to meet the aspirations of the public, who overwhelmingly support having choice, dignity, and compassion at the end of their lives.
