Collaboration in action

At today’s meeting members and guests worked together and shared so much.
The member spotlight was provided by Mel from Lemon Tree Social our very own Certified Digital Marketing professional. Mel provides a range of affordable services; social media, digital marketing, web development, blog writing and SEO optimisation. Her service is bespoke focusing on 1-2-1 relationships.
Guests today; Callum commercial insurance specialist from Swinton Insurance and Amanda from Maggies independent florist specialising in funerals.
Lee will be delighted to know that Jane enlightened us on the wedding ceremony she performed on East Lancashire Railway and Learn the Law with Mark provided clarity on ‘Habeas Corpus’.

A recent first for me recently as I officiated a wedding celebration on a moving train. Thanks to the happy couple, Julie-Anne and Kevin for the delicious meal (prepared and served by the East Lancashire Railway staff). Another celebration of distinction while also dining with distinction.

A quick heads-up for fellow celebrants and event professionals
I was recently contacted with what seemed like a genuine enquiry for a wedding celebration ceremony. Sadly, it turned out to be a scam—not one I fell for, but it was carefully worded, emotionally persuasive, and designed to extract personal details and payment under false pretences.
If you're approached with a lead that feels “off,” trust your instincts.
Common red flags include:
- Requests for urgent bookings with minimal details
- Unusual payment methods or pressure to send money
- Poor grammar or inconsistent information
- Reluctance to speak by phone or video, unusual links for video calls

So grateful for lovely warm, calm and dry weather yesterday for the wedding celebration ceremony for this wonderful couple.

I had a lovely time celebrating my own wedding anniversary at the weekend. 33 years of marriage and I still struggle taking a decent selfie! Great meal at the Spread Eagle pub and a wander round the old abbey afterwards.
