Don’t all small businesses wish they had the kind of support celebrities and influencers get?
If only Molly Mae was promoting The Pantry ay!
People obsessing over them, who don’t even know they exist. Liking every post, buying every product, sharing everything. Meanwhile those same people can scroll straight past someone they actually KNOW trying to build a business and not even leave a simple like.
It’s actually a really s**t reality when you think about it. It says a lot about what people value nowadays.
Small businesses are out here pouring their heart, time, money and energy into something they’ve built from absolutely nothing… and some friends, family or people they actually KNOW can’t even tap “like”.
Crazy really.
Some people stay silent because they don’t want certain people seeing they support you. Some because of jealousy. Some because they secretly don’t believe in you until everyone else does first.
Then the same people will message asking for favours, discounts, mates rates or “a little help out” as if running a business doesn’t already come with enough pressure. Wanting support from you while giving absolutely none back.
But what people fail to realise is how important support actually is for a small business.
One like pushes a post further.
One comment boosts engagement.
One share could bring in a paying customer.
One recommendation could literally help someone pay their bills that month.
Support costs absolutely nothing, but to a small business owner it can mean everything.
Behind every order, enquiry, post and late-night idea is a real person trying to make something of themselves. No huge team. No celebrity status. No millions of followers. Just passion, pressure, hard work and hope that people will care enough to support it.
And the funny thing is… strangers are often the loudest supporters. The people who owe you nothing are sometimes the ones cheering you on the most.
Never underestimate how far a little support can go for a small business. It matters more than people think.
