THE FACE BEHIND THE BALLOONS✨
For those who don’t know me, hi! I’m Molly, the face behind The Floating Co. 🤍🎈
I’m 24, from Barrowford, and my business is based in Burnley. I’ve been running The Floating Co for 2.5 years now, but the story actually started long before that!
It all started with me doing the odd balloon arch for family and friends. Everyone seemed to love them, although looking back now, I sometimes think… WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? But we all have to start somewhere, right?!😂
After setting up my sister’s baby shower, I had so many people asking me to do their celebrations too. I kept thinking, do I actually turn this into a proper business, or do I just keep it as a little hobby?
Well… here we are! 🥹✨
I took a chance on myself and turned a dream into reality, and honestly, I’m so glad I did.
Now, let’s talk about where it all began…
I originally started The Floating Co in my friend’s SPARE BEDROOM! How she coped with me taking over her space, I’ll never know! 🤍
As the business started growing, and I kept investing in more balloons, props and equipment, I soon outgrew that space. I then moved into my dad’s spare room (thank you, Dad! 🫶🏼), and as the business continued to grow, I ended up taking over ANOTHER spare room!
That’s where I’m based now — surrounded by props, balloons and everything that comes with running an event styling business. Safe to say, the spare rooms in my life have never really been spare! 😂🎈
But in all seriousness, looking back at how far I’ve come makes me so proud.
Over the past 2.5 years, there have been so many highs, but there have also been failures, mistakes, setbacks and plenty of moments where I’ve genuinely wanted to give up.
Running a small business isn’t always the glamorous life people see on social media. There’s so much hard work, money invested, time spent planning, late nights, early mornings and a lot of learning along the way.
I’ve made mistakes, I’ve questioned myself, and I know I still have so much to learn. But I have so much pride in what I do, and all I want is to keep improving, keep growing and keep turning people’s visions into reality.
My favourite part of this job will always be seeing an idea come to life and knowing I’ve helped make somebody’s special occasion that little bit more memorable. Whether it’s a birthday, christening, engagement, baby shower or wedding, I put so much love into what I create. 🤍✨
The Floating Co was once just me making balloon arches for family and friends, wondering whether I should start a business. Now, 2.5 years later, it’s something I’ve built from the ground up, one balloon, one prop and one booking at a time.
I’m nowhere near where I want to be yet, and I know there’s so much more I want to achieve. But I’m proud of the girl who took that chance, even when she didn’t know where it would lead.
To everyone who has booked with me, recommended me, shared my posts, supported me or helped me along the way — thank you. And to my friend Millie and my dad for letting me take over your spare rooms… I owe you both one! 😂🤍
Here’s to the next chapter of The Floating Co, bigger dreams, more beautiful setups and continuing to do something I genuinely love.
A dream I once questioned is now my reality. And we’re only just getting started. 🥂🎈
