I was working on an alternative rose design this weekend. There was a rose clinging on for dear life outside our house a few weeks ago, so i used that as inspiration (see last pic).

I do quite like using black for foliage, but I've gone for a more realistic green here 🌿. I also got my pastel set out of retirement (from my A level art days a 'few'years back 😉), using a slightly darker pink to add a touch of depth to the petals 🖍🌸.

The poinsettia 🌸. Another fussy plant that seems to start dying before you've even get it home from the shop. This one has been a project for a while now. A mix of dahlias and daisy flowers.

A prominent colour is purple, because these were made especially for one of my oldest friends - the lovely Donna who we were celebrating this weekend as she turns 40. Anyone that knows Donna knows that purple is very much her brand! 💜

This is the first time I've tried mixing flower types and a lot of colour, which ended up being really challenging to get it not looking like a total shambles 🤣. I've never been good at arranging flowers and whilst paper versions do make things a bit easier in some ways, there's also the fact you have to make them before you know if they look right. A few were left on the cutting room floor! 🗑

Wedding table foxgloves, half of which had the lyrics to 'it must be love'. 🦊🧤🧡.

These took a lot of time but I was pleased with how they looked on the big day 🔔💒☺️. See final image for what they looked like before being assembled 🥴
