As winter lifts its heavy cloak, the hopefulness of spring beams out from beneath…
Motherhood has been a rebirth. A transition like no other. It’s brought with it a deep sense of reflection of the beautiful journey that has led us to this present moment…
Whilst the deep rest of winter has been welcomed, it is time to begin again. Like the shoots that emerge above the soil, so do we. Delicate and powerful all the same.
This season is ahead will look to strengthen our roots.
Watering and nurturing the core of who we are in this space.
Thank you for being on this journey with us, our story continues to unfold…
I am, because we are.

It’s the season for soul food that hugs you from the inside…
From cabbages to brassicas - our gloriously green platter makes use of these beauties in a variety of ways. From the embers of the fire pit, to direct grill, or even bathed in smoke and seared in skillets - these never fail to deliver that comforting sense of home cooked goodness to our feasting spreads.

Autumn feasting 🎃🍂🔥
A look at some of our favourite autumnal platters in the making, cooked over fire. With the shift in season we work with the environment utilising our favourite skillets, cauldrons and pots to cook up our feasts. Limiting the amount of open fire grilling in the colder months.
Our menus become infused with a rich backdrop of spices, and preserved ingredients that support gut health and amplify flavour!

Behind the scenes prep for the pass at a long table fire feast 🍂🔥
Ubuntu Food feasting experiences tell a story of our sacred relationship with nature. From our hand thrown ceramics that deliver each dish to the table, to the layers of flavour that come from sourcing consciously & cooking over open fire. We work with intention to create an immersive sense of ceremony that reconnects our guests to the soul of good food…

Shambala Festival 🔥✨🧚♂️
Every year Ubuntu Food collective has the joy of catering for the gorgeous permaculture community who are known for their insightful talks, workshops, and activities in the Heaven and Earth area of the festival.
Preserving the seasons has always been a hot topic of conversation at our fire cooking demos, as it forms a core part of how we choose to work with natures cycles, and deepen flavour experience throughout our menus.
This weekend, Ubuntu’s fermentation guru , will be holding space for those curious to delve deeper into this revitalising skill, in a beautiful hands on workshop that will inspire you to ferment, pickle and preserve.
🕰️Saturday @3:30pm
Highly recommended, not to be missed

Every season our collective community evolves. We show up for one another, working consciously to create a memorable moments around the table through our love for food and fire. Deepening our connection to the world around us through each of our events….
Feeling an immense sense of gratitude for the people who have made this season possible. Being in the company of people who view food and hospitality as a creative act, and one that advocates for a better future is something that will always be a driving force in the work that we do 💛

A close friend once told me that his favourite word from back home in South Africa was Ubuntu. An ancient African philosophy which centres around humanity towards others. In Its simplest form it translates to; I am, because we are.
A philosophy which resonates so deeply that it has become the ultimate foundation of this project.
My parents came to the UK from South Africa in the late 80’s and some how ended up in the Norfolk countryside, a place that I now consider home. Growing up with a beach five minutes in one direction, and a forest in the other; my childhood was spent falling in love with exploring the outdoors. A time where the smell of a burning fire carried through the trees was my Dad preparing for the Braai we were about to have that evening.
A regular ritual paying homage to my parents past, a true feast for the senses. The smoke from the fire engulfed in conversation, laughter and mouth watering anticipation for the food that was going to be served. It was around my family table I learnt the value of humanity, compassion and belonging. A table which has, and always will, welcome anyone and everyone who steps foot in our home. Be present around the table and be present in your life: don’t take relationships and moments of simple happiness for granted.
Ubuntu Food manifests the belief that there is a unique simplicity in the exchanges that take place when sharing good food (and a glass of wine) amongst other people. Creating a new dimension of experience and understanding which has the power to realign and connect us to one another.
Captivated by curiosity and with Ubuntu as my compass; my journey with this food project is an exploration of what I am most passionate about; People, food and culture.
