A wonderful day at Yeo Valley Garden Festival. Some amazing talks from Francis Tophill, Arit Anderson and Chris Hull. Conversations about pollinators, connection through gardening and gardening in the future as the climate changes. The Bee safari was great. I learnt loads about solitary Bees and Bumble bees including how they make sleeping bags for their larvae. Have the Bee book by Jean Vernon to sink my teeth into over the weekend ☕️.

I’ve grown ten varieties of flowers this year that I really enjoyed growing. They were easy to germinate and raise coped well with the heat and looked great in my bouquets. Here are the first five. The second five will appear in a post later in the week. Why not try growing these in the spring!

A talk to a Horticultural group last night. Lovely evening lots of great questions from the audience. I do offer talks about my career in Horticulture from working as a private gardener through my time and experiences at the National Trust to working on my own business. Thanks for welcoming me so warmly.

This weekend I’m starting the Autumn jobs. The first of which was to clean the shade paint off of my Greenhouse. The paint proved invaluable with the heatwave and strong sunlight we had over summer. I was able to raise quite a few seedlings in there without them scorching and running out of water. I will take it off now as I need the greenhouse to heat up as much as possible in the run up to the winter. I am starting to plant the seedlings that will overwinter in the polytunnel and give me an early start in Spring.

What a gorgeous evening at April’s Flower Patch! 💐✨

Skincare, gua sha, beautiful homegrown flowers, tea, cake, lots of chatting and some very impressive floral creations!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us and made our first Flowers & Facials such a success. 💚 And a huge thank you to April for welcoming us into her beautiful garden.

I think we might have to do this one again… 👀🌸
