Mother’s Day is always the busiest time of year for my little business, but this year it falls on the 3rd anniversary of losing my beautiful mum.

I absolutely love creating flowers for all the wonderful mums out there, but I know this one will feel different and I need to be gentle with myself. So instead of taking on lots of orders this year, I’m keeping things small and simple.

I’ve given your flowers the best start they can have by ordering them fresh from the wonderful flowervisionbristol & conditioning them correctly to ensure they arrive in prime condition. But now it’s over to you.

💐Remove the wrapping from the bouquet. Although it looks pretty, it shortens the vase life if left on too long as it traps ethylene gas, which the flowers release and causes them to decay faster. This is also why you should never store your flowers next to the fruit bowl or vegetables - especially bananas as these release loads of ethane gas.

🌷Keep your flowers in a cool place, away from direct sunlight or radiators and heat.

💧Change the water every 2-3 days and re-cut the stems on an angle. Make sure that all the stems are under the waterline.

🧽 Clean Vases are crucial to keep bacteria down! Once you’ve finished enjoying your flowers, it’s time to get that vase clean. Drop of bleach & cold water & leave for 15 mins at least to ensure all the nasty bacteria have been killed before you put your next lovely bunch in there.
