🫧 ACID LULLABIES & EUPHORIC THROWBACKS 🫧

This week on Selector Selects, we’ve got North Devon’s finest, M’Lover stepping up with a collection of tunes built for losing yourself.

Endless, squelchy acid lines that feel like a lullaby to thumping floor fillers and euphoric, synth-heavy moments with a heavy dose of nostalgia.

There’s a lovely selection of hypnotic and 80s floor fillers that take you back to a time when you weren’t actually around for. All punctuated with why they work best in her sets.

If you’re familiar with a M’lover set, then all of these tunes will make sense, strictly feel-good business.

Love to M’Lover for providing the goods this week. Acid, beautiful vocals, and plenty of dancefloor am******on throughout.

🪨 PEBBLETEX SELECTS 🪨

A special one for us this week, welcoming a longtime friend and one of the most genuinely creative people we know Pebbletex onto Selector Selects.

Some of you lot might remember his tune on our first charity VA, under the Goldefish moniker - amongst other contributions over the years.

Pebbletex has always had an incredible ear and a real openness to anything creative, especially sound. This week there’s a huge mix of influences all held together by the truest of heads.

The accompanying words are just as thoughtful and sincere with heaps of detail. A true illustration of why these tunes mean something to them.

🎸 THROWBACK CITY 🎸

One of the finest selectors around joins us for this week’s SS.

A multi-genre, multi-faceted talent equally at home behind the decks as she is interviewing the heads.

Tbh, this is probably the most guitar-forward selection we’ve had on the series so far. Not mad about it.

Choice cuts punctuated by tunes that make complete sense if you’ve ever caught a Sez. rinse-out.

140 bangers, with a little throwback thrown in to keep you grounded, or at least that’s our interpretation.

Either way, you can’t really go wrong.
Give the selections a go.

This is overdue! Last week we disappeared into the woods of North Devon for MOOT. 2 days of music, making, eating, dancing and connecting.

A gathering of the people who make excess what it is, collaborators, artists, friends, old faces and new. A chance to bring the different threads of excess together in one place, away from the city and somewhere personal to us.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made the journey, played a part, got stuck in and made the weekend what it was.

A huge thank you to our friends at Buttercombe Meadow Campsite for being so accommodating through this process,

We’re all still thinking about this one and already whacking our heads together about next year 🧡

⬇️Less Is More⬇️

Berlin’s finest Anna Kost takes centre stage this week on SS, a selector shaped by a myriad of early influences but refined in Germany’s finest musical city.

Darker minimal sounds are abundant in her sets and productions. They are consistent but never linear, scaling up and down a range of BPMs but always maintaining the same energy.

Her selections showcase a range of hypnotic productions, emotional Electro, and soulful Detroit classics. All with enough bass to keep you grounded and happy.

A seriously well-paced set of selections from start to finish.
