Please join me Next Friday 20th November, 7-10pm for a DJ Livestream by me, Ben GC, for an evening of music and fun, some good money raised for charity and no doubt a silver skirt…

Six months ago, after a series of weekly livestreams on Twitch, just to bring us all together in a new version of music and drinking as we entered the brave world of lockdown, I did this fundraising event as part of the weekender for Last Night a DJ Saved My Life Foundation ( ).

With the help of an absolute s**t-ton of you lot, a cumulative obscene consumption of booze across the British isles and abroad, and some old music we had an evening of immense fun and worthy charitable achievement.

I think i put a target of £250 on the just giving page and yet by end of an evening of me channeling every ounce of Lenny Henry style televised fundraising power I had we pushed towards £1500 when all the gift aid was counted. This was a significant chunk of the total money of SetForLove MK1.

SIX MONTHS LATER and we go again! Next weekend is the Christmas Appeal Weekender where livestreams will be going all across the world with thousands of DJs taking part, some big headliners (notably Carl Cox and Ben GC).

The work that Jonny Lee and LNADJ does for amazing causes across African and Asia is fantastic and the speed at which the money hits the ground, untouched by any other fees, wages or charges is incredible - every quid literally helps! Funds raised in this Set For Love Xmas Appeal will be distributed across a number ofprojects in developing countries focussed on creating sustainable futures for vulnerable children and young adults. These include projects to stop child labour and get children into education, construction of new schools, centres for the rehabilitation of young girls who have experienced s*x trafficking and domestic abuse, the creation of sustainable resources including water wells.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me, by a) not only joining me to have a really wonderful evening just as we are once again stuck back indoors for Lockdown2.0 but b) to please share this with friends and help to get some more people tuned in and hopefully donating.

WE MADE NEARLY £1400 SO FAR!!!!!
and just so you know, that money has already started to hit the ground in areas in crisis as early as midweek last week!!!! no nonsense, no red tape, no CEOs salaries, your cash went straight out to where it was needed. £50k in total was raised over the course of the weekend. HUGE LOVE xx

JUST WANTED TO SAY A HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!! mind well and truly blown.... after an epic 6.5 hour marathon drinking and laughing session and about 100 tunes we raised well over a grand and donations still coming in now mean we have almost hit £1400 with the gift aid included!! Big up all of you who have been involved in (ie. witnessed, joined along with, raved to, drunk to, fallen over to...) the Ben GC / South of Houston livestreams every weekend for the past few!!! As you should hopefully be aware this week's livestream is coming to you on Bank Holiday Friday 8th May from 6-9pm ish ;) , as apparently Friday is the new Saturday.

To make things even betterer, we're joining up with the largest DJ event livestream weekend thingymabob and dead excited too. It means that as well as all the normal fun/chaos/shamelessness we can also raise some money for very decent causes during this mad mad time. The DJ Saved My Life Foundation is close to our hearts with our good friend heavily involved, so please come and watch, come and dance, join me, bring beers and a few quid to donate to a worthy cause! Their Covid19 emergency Appeal needs your attention and a few little dollars. Promo coming tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone who came and joined Ben Gc on saturday evening. Umpteen outfit changes, a nod to David Byrne, loads of disco, afro and house and even some Maxi Priest, only ran 30 minutes over and remembered the whole thing which is some improvement on the week before! last night's party was a huge success and we all had loads of fun - some of us maybe too much fun 😂

3 hours billed turned into an unsurprising 5 hours seeing us through til midnight - apologies to the neighbours. Was my first time livestreaming anything so bear with as I'm sure we'll improve over time. Here's to many more, but if you wish to watch last night's fun it'll be online for a week or two. THIS SATURDAY (Sat 16th Feb) sees Mike Bradbury (Balearic Ultras Radio Show) and Dan Storey (Last Night A DJ Saved My Life) stepping out for some B2B biznizz.... two of not only the nicest, but possibly the most handsomest, DJs in town... megaswoon.💋

MARCH's party (Sat 16th Mar) sees long time South of Houston badman resident, Ben Monk with a special guest for the night Mr Jan Hammered (Spiritland / London etc)... muchos noice! 🍰

APRIL (Sat 27th Apr [not our usual 3rd saturday of the month slot]), we've got our intrepid explorer David Loja, fresh back from Guadeloupe with more wax than a Caribbean candle factory playing alongside yours truly, Ben Gc. This s**t goes off! If you know, you know 💥
