It is with great pleasure that I reveal the final total of money raised for via !

The complete event total was £942.57, however a portion of this money went to TicketSource fees, with the rest going to help pay for artist travel to the event.

This is an impressive amount to raise and I am so grateful to everyone who came down to the show was a part of the event itself!

WHAT A SHOW!

Half Blind’s Bigger Gay Fundraiser has been my biggest and most ambitious show yet, and I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who was a part of it!

Whilst I have not yet got the final number of money raised for The Clare Project, as I am waiting to hear from TicketSource, it looks like we’re in the £800+ ballpark which is absolutely fantastic!

Introducing our ninth and final act…

The Oozes are a two piece, trans, political Queer-Punk band from SE London.

Inspired by classic punk, clownery, drag, performance art and musical theatre, their performances are loud in as many ways as they can manage. The band encourages and embraces freaks, perverts, s*x traitors and agitators.

Their music centres trans liberation, denounces fascism and opposes the conventional - fast and hard. Two years since their last show in Brighton, and in the midst of working towards a debut album, you can expect to hear a mixture of freshened up ‘oldies’, and some brand spankin’ newbies.

Introducing our eighth act…

Ewy is an explosive q***r punk project based in Leeds that prides itself on aggressive vulnerability and DIY ethos. They explore themes of gender, politics and relationships. Their latest EP ‘SCREAM LIKE A DOG’ was their explosive debut into the punk genre. After their ‘SCREAM LIKE A TOUR’ in April 2025, Ewy has honed in on sensitive, but raw subjects. Their music is dedicated to expressing an unheard, but shared experience of neurodiverse and q***r people alike. They take inspiration from bands such as Jeff Rosenstock, PUP and Weezer.

Forming in Brighton, Currls are a DIY Garage Rock band that burst onto the scene in 2017 and have since become a formidable presence in the underground music scene. Seamlessly blending raw Garage rock, fast-paced Punk, and sludgy Pop, Currls is a sonic powerhouse that will leave you feeling ready to take on the world.

Introducing the sixth act on our lineup…

Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Jessica (Fu***ng) James, the beating heart of Faeser lies in the band’s live performances, which deliver an unpredictable dynamic blend of aggressive highs, tender lows, and an energy that is simply magnetic - all presented in a freak-show glam getup. Faeser is the unholy matrimony of not only the audience and James, but also lead guitarist Willow Simpson, rhythm guitarist Emia Demir, bassist Matthew Sherren and Drummer Nathan Hayward. Once, they were known as Rottweiler. Now, they are not. Faeser is a love letter to the ‘90s, and a union of chaos. It is a pop star stuck in a bad dream.

Introducing the fifth act on our lineup…

Floralis is an antifascist trans artist/producer who incorporates elements of post punk and hip hop into her bizarre blend of gothic art pop. Drawing from the influences of artists such as Bjork, M.I.A, Vince Staples, and her Trinidadian heritage, Floralis’s music captures the raw punk energy she has gained from her years of fronting hardcore bands with an electronic blend.

She regularly covers subjects such as the cruel abuse committed by the Home Office, colonialism, and transphobia, with anarchist politics to match. She’s currently working on her sophomore album, “Saboteur Club Anthems Vol. 1”, which specifically explores the violence of the settler colonial hotel industry.

Introducing act number three…

Formed in May 2024, Creeping Embers are an all q***r, trans and disabled fronted, genre hopping punk band from Brighton uk. Loud, Chaotic, and slightly unhinged, Creeping Embers combine Rumbling bass tones, erratic drum beats, biting vocals and the elegant whisperings of electric harp and synth to create an experience you won’t forget!

With grimly theatrical visuals and atmospheric stage performances, Creeping Embers twist the standard idea of a live music performance to better convey their messages. The band’s lyrics focus on a wide variety of topics such as social injustice, lgbtq+ rights, living with disabilities, getting a little bit too drunk and accidentally ending up on stage and more.

Comparable to bands such as Cheap Perfume, Destroy Boys, Voodoo Church, Agent Orange, Petrol Girls, The Cure and The Buzzcocks, Creeping Embers take influence from a variety of genres including punk, post punk, q***rcore, grunge, funk, folk, alternative rock and gothic rock, then smush it all together to create their own sound, ideal for both fans of these bands and new comers to the genres!
