We know we’ve been quiet but the time has come to announce why.

Bridgwater Community Pride have teamed up with Pride on Sea this year to help them put a pride on in Burnham-on-Sea again!

All of the people behind both Bridgwater Community Pride and Pride On Sea are volunteers working hard to bring a safer space for the community, and so you can imagine how much time, effort and energy it takes to put a pride on. So together, we hope we can continue to bring these safer spaces for you all. Because sticking together is the most important thing.

We will continue to update you on everything but make sure you’re following Pride On Sea as well to see what’s happening.

Thank you all for the continued support and we hope you join us this year in Burnham-on-Sea!

We understand that the fight has become harder but we promise you that we’re by your sides every single step of the way! You are brilliant and you deserve to exist in this world just as anyone else does.

I know it has been very quiet on here (things will become clear as to why soon!), but this has to be shared.

We will fight with you and for you, and we stand with you. 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

We want to take a moment to send love and solidarity to our Trans, Non-Binary, and intersex community tonight. We know you are hurting, we know you are scared, but know that you are not alone.

This afternoon the new draft EHRC guidance was put before parliament. It’s 342 pages long and everyone will need time to review and process it. It's worrying, but our community will once again rally together to ensure we continue to fight back. There will be a 40 day consultation period and conversation that needs to be had both in terms of examining and pushing back and for what happens next.

We urge you to write to your local MP and ask them to ensure there is scrutiny and push for an inclusive approach. Organisations and businesses should avoid rushing into making any changes whilst the guidance is reviewed, as a clear reminder - exclusion is not the mandatory way forward.

Tomorrow (Friday) at 5pm Trans Educator and Speaker Robyn Newark and Barrister Oscar Davies will be doing a live talk to give a broad overview of the new guidance, discussing what this means, and answering questions and concerns and talking about what happens now. https://www.instagram.com/nonbinarybarrister/

This day is a powerful reminder of the work still needed to create a world where everyone can live safely, openly, and authentically.

Hi all!

Things have been quiet with us but that is simply because we’re planning some things, so keep your eyes peeled for some announcements soon!

We would also like to thank all of our supporters again for helping us make it possible to put on Bridgwater Community Pride. Our security, the council, Victoria Park Community Centre, all of our volunteers throughout the entire planning and on the day, our entertainers, Sedgemoor FM, DJ Nick Burrett, SAG, Samba Do Bispo, Deidre Darling and Elise, support from different prides around the UK, Pride Pics UK, all of our sponsors, our donators, the people who were going to help us with the stage, and of course every person of the public that showed their support! Everyone that was involved in any way shape or form, we cannot thank you enough. It is because of YOU that pride was able to happen and we will forever be thanking you!

Pride is so incredibly important and it was wonderful to see that in just 15 weeks, we were able to pull together enough support to put on Bridgwater Community Pride.
