Sunday is fast approaching and an afternoon of great music with the wonderful R.Dyer and Dave H-S.
Heres a reminder of what youve got to look forward to.
Its free too, but as always remember the FUP rules ‘Bring your listening ears and respect the musicians’😋
R.dyer combines anything from found sounds, synth, musical saw, saxophone, nose-flute, folk harp, household objects, and light up shoelaces to create looped performances which move from baroque-pop to mesmerising soundscapes via acapella lullabies and stories about dogs in trainers. A regular performer in their home-town of Brighton, they’ve supported Sarah Angliss, Porridge Radio, Ana da Silva & PHEW!, Alabaster dePlume, Haiku Salut and Richard Dawson, as well being one of three early career artists to be awarded an Emergent Commission by Drake music in 2021.
They released their beautiful album Little Victories at the end of 2022, a collection of 10 songs soanning the avant-pop of the opening track Little Creatures, recalling the rawness of early Arcade Fire, to the stunning folk-fragility of stand-out track King Alfred’s Cakes, it celebrates the stories of the small and minute, giving voices to canaries and desks, with a wry and intelligent humour.
