Hello, my name is Charlie, and I’m Eddie’s dad.

I’m raising funds to help keep our local autism parent support group running. Every penny raised goes directly towards hiring venues and organising our fortnightly sessions, giving families of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) a safe, welcoming place to come together.

Our support group provides a relaxed, friendly, and non-judgemental environment where parents can connect with others who truly understand the unique challenges and joys of raising a child with additional needs. These sessions are much more than just a place to chat—they’re a source of support, friendship, reassurance, and hope for families who often feel isolated.

The benefits extend far beyond the parents. Our children have the opportunity to spend time in an accepting and inclusive environment where they can simply be themselves, free from judgement or expectations. They can play, explore, build confidence, and develop friendships with other children who understand them. For many children, it’s one of the few places where they feel completely accepted and where differences are celebrated rather than questioned.

At the same time, parents can share experiences, exchange advice, talk openly about the challenges they face, celebrate every achievement—no matter how big or small—and support one another through difficult times. The friendships built within our group often continue outside of our sessions, creating a network of support that benefits the whole family.

When parents feel supported, they are better equipped to support their children. When children see their parents feeling less isolated and more confident, the positive impact reaches the entire family. Together, we’re building a community where no one has to face this journey alone.

Your donation, no matter the size, will help us continue providing these vital fortnightly sessions for local families. Every pound raised goes directly towards venue hire and the running of our group, ensuring that families have a safe, welcoming place to connect and children have somewhere they can feel they truly belong.

Every donation makes a real difference, and every act of kindness helps us continue supporting families who need it most.

Why We Keep Our Group Page Private
Finding our way - Dad and Eddie

Our group is a safe and supportive space for parents and carers of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Parenting a child with SEN can bring unique challenges that others may not always understand. Whether you're navigating everyday life, educational issues, appointments, assessments, or simply looking for advice from people who truly "get it," this group is here for you.

By keeping the group private, members can feel comfortable sharing personal experiences, asking questions, celebrating successes, and discussing difficult days without fear of judgement.

We believe there is great value in learning from one another. The support, understanding, and shared experiences within this community can make a real difference to families facing similar journeys.

Together, we can offer encouragement, practical guidance, and a reminder that no one has to navigate the SEN journey alone.

Please share, if you or someone you know would benefit from being part of the Dad, Eddie and friends journey come along and join us.
