There’s one thing that makes every first suit appointment go a lot smoother…

…and they have a very clear vision 😅

Having both halves of the couple there from the start helps align colours, styling and the overall vision and avoids the classic “I’ll just check…” conversation later on. Consider it teamwork.

Once that’s covered, here’s what else helps:

👔 An open mind
Trying different styles is key. What you imagine beforehand isn’t always what works best once it’s on.

🎨 A rough idea of the wedding look
Think colour palette, venue and season - nothing final, just a direction.

📅 Time
The first visit is about exploring options, not rushing decisions. Many couples begin this stage 9–18 months before the wedding.

From there, fittings usually happen closer to the day:
• Adults in the wedding party: 6–8 weeks before
• Groom and children: 2–3 weeks before

Every wedding is different, but this is a helpful guide to keep things calm and organised.

Save this and send it to the person you’re bringing with you 🖤

Suit planning is one of the easiest things to push down the list, but it’s one of the first decisions that shapes the whole look of the day.

Getting started early isn’t about locking everything in straight away, it’s about giving yourselves options.

Here’s how most couples approach it:

🤵 First visit: as early as you like

Bride and groom together to explore styles, try suits and align on colours and overall feel.

Many couples begin this stage 9–18 months before the wedding.

🤵 Wedding party fittings (hire):

Groomsmen are usually fitted 6–8 weeks before the wedding.

🤵 Final fittings:

The groom and any children are fitted 2–3 weeks before, once everything else is in place.

Starting early gives you space to make confident decisions, while fittings still happen closer to the day when accuracy matters most.

Every wedding runs differently, this is a guide to help keep things feeling calm and considered.

Save this if you’re in planning mode 🖤

Groom vs Groomsmen 👔

Coordinating the wedding party doesn’t mean everyone has to match exactly. Small differences in styling are enough to let the groom stand out, while still keeping everything looking intentional and pulled together.

It’s a relaxed approach that feels considered rather than over-styled - a really simple way to give the groom his own moment within the group.

Save this if you’re planning how to style your groom and groomsmen 🤍

If sage green is part of your wedding palette, you don’t have to put everyone in the same suit colour for it to work.

Mixing neutral tones with sage or green suits keeps the look balanced, while accessories do the job of tying everything together. A tie, pocket square or subtle detail in the right shade can link the whole wedding party without forcing a match.

It’s about creating a look that feels considered, cohesive and easy to wear.

Save this if you’re planning your colour palette 💚

Accessories don’t just finish a suit, they change the entire look.

The same suit can feel classic, bold or relaxed just by switching the tie, pocket square or floral details. It’s one of the easiest ways to tie the suits into your wedding theme, colour palette or event style without starting from scratch.

Whether you’re matching bridesmaids, working with seasonal tones or just want a look that feels personal, the details make all the difference.

Save this if you’re still deciding on colours💙
