How lovely to be able to visit the wonderful new Bierley Woods Crematorium yesterday. Such a fabulous and tranquil setting that will allow families the chance to say goodbye to loved ones in such special surroundings. Thank you to Katie for showing me around. I look forward to working here.

We've had a morning spent with a family, choosing their loved ones forever home 💔🌳
To make this a little easier, they were blown away with the beauty of Tarn Moor.
A truly tranquil and beautiful place ✨️

Our burial ground is a place full of natural life and offer an ideal environment for peaceful reflection, within nature.
Visitors are welcome at any time to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our field and to watch the developing wildlife habitats. We believe that your visits will provide you with a suitable place for reflection as well as bringing comfort to you and your relatives.

If you would like any information ℹ️ about a natural burial here then do get in touch.

It's always an absolute privilege to be invited into someone's home to help them plan a funeral. Today's was very special: for a gentleman with hugely varied interests from fencing to marquetry, badminton, pottery, and collecting antiques. His lovely family treated me with tea served in the most delightful bone china cups. There were biscuits, of course! Those little touches were just so lovely,

What an absolute privilege today to lead the funeral service today for a gentleman who had served his country in the Royal Corps of Signals. In his honour, his coffin was draped with their flag, and a wonderful representative from the Corps provided a ceremonial watch throughout the service. We wished this lovely gentleman safe passage surrounded by his family and close friends. "Certa Cito."

This is the amazing picture that I chose for for the cover of a book I wrote and edited with colleagues a few years ago. The image is rich with ideas about talk and listening. So what better image to post as part of Dying Matters Awareness Week. Start a conversation with those you love about your choices around dying, and how you would like to be remembered when the time comes.

💛 Dying Matters Week 2026 💛

Dying Matters Week encourages us all to speak more openly about dying, death and grief - conversations that can be difficult, but are incredibly important. By talking, listening and sharing, we can help reduce fear and ensure people’s wishes are understood and respected.

At Arthur Baxter Funeral Directors, we’re proud to support Dying Matters Week and stand alongside organisations like Hospice UK, who champion compassionate end‑of‑life care and support for people and families across the UK.

To learn more about Dying Matters Week and the vital work hospices do, visit www.hospiceuk.org.

If you’d like to talk or have any questions, our team here in Bingley is always here to listen.
