🖤💛 ZS LOST DANCEFLOORS — No. 011
PARADISE CLUB, ISLINGTON
Some club names bring a whole era back. Paradise is one of them. 🔊
On Parkfield Street, London N1, Paradise became part of London’s jungle story. The original AWOL flyer dated 29 February 1992 captures an early chapter of a night whose name said it all: A Way of Life. (phatmedia.co.uk)
AWOL grew into a home for a formidable team: Randall, Micky Finn, Kenny Ken, Dr S Gachet and MC GQ, with Darren Jay and Fearless joining along the way. Week after week, that continuity helped build a sound and a following that became part of jungle history. (goatshedmusic.com)
Paradise’s story also includes Tribal Dance, represented here by Tristan O’Neill’s photograph from 1995. Those beams of light cutting through the crowd capture something a line-up alone can’t: the feeling of being inside the dance.
That’s what Lost Dancefloors is here to remember. The venues, the flyers, the music — and the people who made those nights their own.
