.. NICE TO MEET YOU ..

Virtually that is, hey, I’m Yasmin 👋
And
There’s something I need to say…

I see it a lot…

Wedding planners whose only experience is planning their own wedding… or their best friend’s 🙄

Everyone has to start somewhere, I get it and have been there but that’s not what I’m about.

I’ve built and actively run real businesses in this incredible industry.
🤍The Beverley Barn Wedding venue
🍴 The Cart Shed Catering

I’ve worked hundreds of weddings and not just at our venue, at other venues too.

Different styles, budgets, guest numbers, all weathers facing different challenges and expectations.

I understand what actually happens behind the scenes at weddings.

When the pressures on, when staff show up late or don’t show at all and when the rain start to pour in from the marquee!

So, if you’re looking for someone to support your wedding planning with real experience, practical advice, and calm direction…

You’ve landed in the right place ✨

.. BLACK TIE & WEDDINGS ..

I NEED to talk about black tie Weddings.

Couples are choosing to have black tie weddings now more than ever and it’s vital couple’s are realistic about what this actually means!

First, outfits.
Ladies, this means you’re wearing a long, to the floor, gown sometimes adorned in sparkle.
Men, a black tuxedo, bow tie, cufflinks and polished shoes.

Now…

We haven’t even spoken about the guest experience.

Guest’s will expect a wedding to match the black tie theme.

Thin stately home, manor house vibes or a large marquee wedding.

A cocktail on arrival, a flute of ch*****ne for after the Ceremony, along with a full drinks package including w**e on tables (half a bottle of w**e per person minimum), still and sparkling water, tea and coffee table service not forgetting a ch*****ne toast.

Choosing a black tie theme undoubtedly looks incredible however to pull it off well, there’s a lot of details that must be executed properly to make the day flow.

That’s where I come in 😘

If you would like a full breakdown of the minimum I’d expect to see at a black tie wedding type ‘Black Tie’ in the comments below 👇🏼

.. THIS IS YOUR SIGN ..

To get a trip to Argos booked in for a Polaroid camera, a gorgeous guest book and some lovely pens, and you’ve created something special for a bargain price!

A little space, a time filler & a talking point for guests.

Loved ones can take photos and stick them in the book along with messages, well wishes and little pieces of advice you’ll look back on forever 🤍

.. REALITY ..

There are so many moving parts in a wedding day. So many behind-the-scenes moments couples never see (thank goodness sometimes 🙄)

Wedding days are FULL ON, they are exhausting, aching feet, dry mouth (who has time to eat and drink) and you’ve been on the go all day…

BUT sometimes it’s hard to leave 🫣

Because the music is too good, the atmosphere is epic, the dance floor is full.

You stand at the side watching everyone have a blast knowing that everything has been worth it and you’ve been part of something special🥰

Highly recommend:

.. IS WEDDING CAKE A WASTE OF MONEY? ..

SO many couples tell me the same thing…

“I’m not sure we even want a wedding cake. At other weddings, no one seemed to be bothered by it and so much got wasted”

And honestly… they’re not wrong!

Here’s how to get it right:

🍰 Make your cake a feature.
Not something hidden in the corner. Use a statement table, stand or swing and style it properly with bud vases filled with stunning flowers and draping around it.

🍰 Make the cake cutting a moment. Gather your guests. Give the moment the attention and time it deserves.

🍰 Don’t leave cutting the cake until just before the first dance. By then, everyone’s focused on the bar and dance floor.

🍰 Instead, how about cutting the cake before speeches and serve it with tea and coffee after your wedding breakfast?

Do this, and your cake gets seen, enjoyed and remembered

Are you having a wedding cake? 🎂 Tell me in the comments below…
