Because some guests are too special to miss the "I do." 💍

It’s a common worry: how will a grandparent or a frail family member manage the long journey and a busy wedding day?

At Serendipity Care, we don’t just provide a ride; we provide a "behind-the-scenes plus one." From helping them get ready at home to "wending our way back" after the memories are made, our door-to-door service ensures they are supported with dignity every step of the way.

Let the usual carers enjoy the day stress-free, knowing their VIP is in expert hands.

I'm so honoured to care for and support the people I do.
This week, a couple, for whom time is short and so precious were forced to remain apart for health reasons, one with a chest infection, the other undergoing chemotherapy highlighted how important gentle loving gestures can be.
I was the valued messenger between them and delivered a heartfelt love letter from one to the other. The words I read out loud brought calm and connection, like an invisible thread pulled tight again.
I was asked to fold the paper and place it in the left breast shirt pocket so it would be close to the heart.

I'm so grateful for the personal testimonial I received from a lovely Mother of the Bride, I was able to support last year. Personal recommendations are so important when my business is caring and empowering vulnerable guests to be independent and included, there is such an element of trust involved.

"We hired Carolyn for my mother who has an Alzheimer’s diagnosis so that she was able to attend my daughter’s wedding last August. From booking to the day the service received from Carolyn was second to none. Carolyn provided excellent compassionate care to my mother which meant I was able to celebrate the day without having the worry of caring for my mother. Would definitely recommend for others in similar situations."

How to Support Wedding Guests with Dementia: A Guide to Home-to-Home Care.

Every guest deserves to be part of the magic. ✨

The "hidden" stress of any wedding is often the transition. For a loved one living with dementia or mobility issues, the journey from their front door to the dance floor can feel like a mountain to climb.

At Event Carer, we don’t just provide a "sitting" service; we are your logistics partner. Our Silver Service "Home-to-Home" package covers every detail:
✅ Professional prep and styling at home.
✅ VIP private transfers for total peace of mind.
✅ 1:1 support through canapés, photos, and the wedding breakfast.
✅ Dedicated "quiet areas" for solace when needed.
✅ A gentle return home with medication and settling-in support.

We take care of the logistics so you can focus on the memories. 🥂

The flip side of Event Carer is Serendipity Care, my bread and butter, day to day work and passion. I don't Nurse any more, even though I have my registration. I feel I can't give 100% to each patient, so I consciously stepped away and now care for those individuals on a one to one basis, in their homes, empowering and promoting independence, choice and dignity.
At present I have the privilege of supporting a lady with Alzheimer's and her husband so that she can remain in her own environment. I support both a husband who is nearing the end of his life and his lovely wife who is undergoing her own cancer treatment journey to make the most of the moments they have together. I also am part of a small team supporting a young woman to live her best life at the heart of her loving family.
All these individuals are doing a great job living their lives as well as they can with quiet dignity and I'm honoured to be part of this.
Remember, you are always worth it, always enough and brighten someone else's day with you just being wonderful you!

"She was the original 1960s rebel. She fought for her independence, her career, and her voice. Now, that same fierce spirit is making her refuse wedding support—even though she’s struggling."

If your Mum or Nana is saying "I think I’ll just stay home," it’s not because she doesn’t want to be there. It’s because she’s protecting her dignity. Discover why the "Care" word is a barrier for the Boomer generation, and how to re frame the conversation so she can be the VIP she truly is.
