PF International Kart Circuit is somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit.

There’s a team event on Sunday 26th October that we’re thinking about doing. 20 minutes of qualifying, 80 minute race and teams of up to 4 drivers. Comment if you’re interested in joining us. If there’s enough interest, I’ll set something up properly 🙂

Some footage from our recent track day at Three Sisters Circuit

I was running the Ginetta Junior Pirelli P1 Cinturato tyres on the Caterham. Unsurprisingly, they weren’t as good as the Toyo R888s on my other rims. But they were great and the car was a lot more playful on them 😁

On the Autosolo, I was actually putting in quicker times on the Pirellis than Toyos 😅

Hope everyone is having a great week.

My next track days are at Curborough Sprint Course on Saturday 27th September and Saturday 18th October.

Sadly, the paddock area is out of action for Autosolos at the moment. So, we’ll just be using the sprint course.

My previous track days at Curborough this year have sold out over a month in advance, so book your spaces sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment 😁

Happy Monday!

I’ve got plenty of 195/50R15 tyres for everyone. However, the Gitis are likely to run out pretty soon. There’s less risk of running out of Pirellis at the moment. Message me to book collection, fitting or delivery 🙂

As part of evolving Ollie’s Secret Track Days, our motorsport prepared MX-5 is available for hire. Opentrack Track Days have evenings at Donington Park coming up on:
5th August, 13th August, 1st September and 8th September.

Prices start from £450, which includes everything. Please message me if you’re interested and we’ll book a date for you.

The Caterham 7 will be coming soon, once I’ve proven it’s reliable and have a tow car and trailer 😎

We had a super day at Three Sisters Circuit yesterday 😎

The format of two layouts on track and an Autosolo in the paddock area worked wonderfully.

Our car of the day was my friend Pete’s Honda V6 powered MX-5. It was actually at my first ever track day, but still had a Mazda engine back then. It’s been lovingly developed over the years. Including Pete swapping the old 3.0 litre Honda V6 that consumed oil at the same rate as petrol to a new (used) 3.2 litre Honda V6 within the last few weeks.

Good morning,

We have a new tyre!

I’ve been trusted with sharing some used 195/50R15 Pirelli P1 Cinturatos with you wonderful people.

For those not familiar with them, they are a summer road tyre. TyreReviews.com classes them as a premium tyre.

They’re currently the control tyre for the Ginetta Junior Race series.

Brand new these are £85 each on DemonTweeks.

I need to free up some garage space, so will offer these for £20 each for a limited time. That’s a full set for less than one brand new tyre!

Tyres typically have 5-7mm of tread left. When collecting, I am more than happy for you to pick out the very best I have available.

I can fit and balance your tyres too at £10 per tyre.

381. That's the number of Giti tyres I started with. I'm down to less than 100 now. Thank you to everyone who has bought a tyre from me. It was a little scary purchasing so many all at once not knowing how good or popular they might be, but they have far exceeded my expectations. I am personally using them on my MX-5 and am very impressed by their performance and durability. Friends that are using them are praising them highly too.

I am in conversation with Giti about trying to get some more and in other sizes too. The cost of new stock is likely to be more than what I’ve been selling them for. To be viable, the new stock will have to be priced at close to £100 each. I appreciate and acknowledge this is a significant increase. I think it’s still a competitive price compared to similar track tyres. In my opinion the Gitis offer superior performance and durability, therefore would still be better value.

Whilst I have so few tyres left, stock replenishment is uncertain and I want to understand if there is still demand at a higher price, the price per tyre is increasing to £80 per tyre.

For anyone that has already enquired or reserved some tyres, I will honour the original price.
