Happy Bank Holiday Monday!

I’ve decided that I’m going to confront the problem of low ticket sales head on, because I know a few things to be absolute truths.

1. The gigs that LATR put on are always incredible value for money.

2. There is an audience of music fans out there that will appreciate that value if they can only find us.

3. A lot of musicians value an attentive audience very highly.

So if you’re just joining us, I’m Chris, I’ve been promoting these shows for over a decade. I’m going to share more regularly my best reasons you should come to our gigs. For long term listeners, you might see some old props (like this picture), but stick with it.

Everyone, please engage, like, share, subscribe, and support our gigs. This is the only way we can keep the music playing.

Brooke Law was brilliant last Saturday night, filling the room with her powerful vocals and playing with such joy it was infectious. We were lucky enough to have a run through of all of Naked Heart, an album full of foot stomping tunes you will want to hear again and again. Markus Michelucci set the tone, with his warm stage presence and thoughful songwriting.

If you see them on a bill - go and watch them!

Good morning friends and followers of LaTR.

Recently, like many other hosts and promoters, our ticket sales have fallen. When you host purposely intimate events, low attendance can make them feel unsuccessful rather than intimidate, and there comes a point where they become financially unsustainable as either the artist or promoter pays the price.

I am always grateful for the amazing friends I’ve made promoting LaTR shows, all of whom have stepped forward to attend gigs by artists they might not be familiar with. You are precious to the grassroots music scene, however I need your help once more. As the internet gets more complex, I need to build a larger audience of people as passionate for these gigs as everyone already here, and frankly I need to build it beyond my social media accounts.

If you like the idea of independent artists and original music.

If you see the value of a local music scene that financially favours the artists, and culturally enriches the audience.

If you want to see more frequent and varied events in your community.

Please help me build the LaTR audience. Can you tell friends and neighbours about what you love about LaTR and listening gigs. Can you make sure you’re on the mailing list to hear about all upcoming events. Can you like and share the social media posts you see (including this one) to really get the message out there.

Help me double the social media reach and build a robust mailing list to promote and protect LaTR gigs.
