This was supposed to go out yesterday, but if I’m honest, I was completely exhausted after such an amazing day!
A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our very first Big Doggy Day Out. Seeing so many people come along, support the event and enjoy themselves meant the absolute world to us. We really hope you all had a fantastic time.
A massive thank you as well to all of our traders, retail and food vendors, Meet the Breeds, demo teams and exhibitors who helped make the day so special:
canicross, Deesidedly Flyball Team and Scratch Squad Flyball Team for their brilliant displays in dog sport.
Zoomies Aberdeen for the fantastic gundog set-up.
Police Scotland dogs for bringing along their wonderful dogs, showing off their skills and taking the time to chat with everyone.
Gary Carroll for being on hand with training advice and speaking to so many people.
Padfoot veterinary physiotherapy for helping with minor injuries — including my own dog, who apparently thought bouncing on an injured shoulder was a great idea!
Eileen West for being amazing as always.
Our judges, Laura Smeaton & Simon White
for coming along to help.
My fantastic sidekick Jen White from White Stag Barrels, I couldn't have done this without you.
Mountside Media — we can’t wait to see all the pictures!
My husband and kids, who always support me and go along with every bright idea I come up with.
And finally, all of our family and friends who turned up to help on the day — we truly couldn’t have done it without you.
Were there teething problems? Of course.
Will we learn from them and make next year even better? Absolutely.
Are there things we’d love to improve but can’t do much about? Parking… yes, it’s still a long field!
Thank you again to every single person who came along, helped out and supported our first event. You made it more special than we could have imagined.
Now, if anyone needs me… I’m going to sleep for the next week!
