Meet Gemma and Gary

On the 3rd of August next year, I’ll have the absolute honour of marrying Gemma & Gary with the stunning Dunure Castle as their backdrop ❤️

Gemma braved the chaos that is my page (😅) and still decided to message me and I’m so glad she did! From the very first chat, I fell in love with their story and can't wait to be the one to marry them ❤️

I had the absolute joy of being part of one of the most magical celebrations at the weekend. Becca and Jonny, honestly the coolest of couples, were such a dream to work with, and their ceremony was (hopefully) everything they wished for ❤️

We laughed our way through their vows, they jumped the broom, tied the infinity knot, and shared from the quaich (with Becca absolutely smashing it by downing the dregs). Straight after the ceremony, they surprised everyone by rolling right into their first dance, starting all romantic and slow before turning the dancefloor into the best kind of mosh pit!

Their wedding celebration was filled with everything that made them shine - pagan touches, DnD nods, and even a beautiful reading from Lord of the Rings. A true celebration of their love, laughter, and quirks. And I'm still slightly teared up at the way they looked at each other throughout the ceremony

It was such an honour to play a wee part in their special night (and Day 2 of their wedding adventure).

✨ Meet Leah & Kai ✨

Back in March, I was at a wedding fayre (in my funky silver cowboy boots, obviously), when I first met this gorgeous couple. A couple of months later they popped into my inbox to check my availability and we set up a wee video chat, and before I knew it, my very first 2028 wedding booking was in the diary!

Now, whether it was my wit and charm that sealed the deal or the hypnotic power of my sparkly footwear remains a mystery 🤠✨ (although the official request for me to wear the boots on the big day might just give it away).

Fast forward to today and we’re officially on the 3-year countdown! Bring it on! 🥂

Leah & Kai, I cannot wait to marry you and look forward to creating your perfect ceremony together ❤️

Here’s a little peek I filmed just before Heather & Steven’s fabulous wedding today. The groom was looking handsome, the bride absolutely stunning –and I had just the one tiny heart-stopping moment when the marriage schedule was nowhere to be found! But all was well in the end, and their ceremony was just perfect. ❤️

Always fab to work alongside great suppliers. The team at The Carlton make it seem effortless and Kyla the photographer and Derek the videographer were amazing

I’m hoping Heather & Steven will share some photos soon so I can show you the magic of their day but safe to say I'm a happy, happy Suzie the Celebrant today ❤️

✨ Feedback Friday – Part 6 ✨

Today’s lovely words come from the fabulous Ellison & Gerry, who I married back in April. They were my very first wedding as I was fresh out the celebrant box

Ellison has been my biggest cheerleader ever since, and I can’t thank her enough for taking a chance on me. After 32 years together, they finally said 'I do' and I got to be the one to marry them… even if my handfasting skills were so new I didn’t actually manage to tie the knot! (Not a metaphor.....the ribbons quite literally refused to cooperate).

Ellison & Gerry - you will forever be my number ones, and the reason I can now tie a handfasting knot with my eyes shut. 😉

✨ Meet Chloe & John ✨

I first met this gorgeous pair just two weeks ago at the Troon Wedding Fayre, and yesterday we caught up properly over coffee (on my way home from the Fenwick Hotel Wedding Fayre where I chatted to more lovely couples). What was meant to be a wee chat turned into over 2 hours of laughter, stories, and all things wedding. Let me tell you, their day at Dalduff Farm on 24th June 2026 is going to be blooming amazing!

So you can imagine my absolute delight when they told me they’d love me to be their celebrant. 🥰

I honestly can’t wait to tell their story, celebrate their love, and be part of such a special day. Roll on 2026! 🎉

✨ Wedding show day at the beautiful Fenwick Hotel! ✨

I’m so excited to be here today, representing Celebrants Scotland with my pal Danielle Graham, meeting couples and chatting all things weddings 💍💐 If you’re visiting, come and say hello. I’m the one in the silver cowboy boots 🤠 (you won’t miss me!).

It was such a lovely surprise to bump into some of my Rock Choir pals in the hotel too 🎶 Can’t wait to get back to choir this week after the summer break – if you’ve ever thought about giving it a go, come along for a taster session… you’ll absolutely love it! 💛

Next week I get to celebrate with the awesome Becca & Jonny!

Not a couple to do things by halves, they’re having not one but TWO wedding days. Day 1 is an intimate legal ceremony with their nearest & dearest (and gorgeous Bear the dog 🐾, who I’m gutted I won’t get to see on day two) followed by day 2 which is a full on celebration surrounded by their whole tribe. With their love of D&D, all things pagan and quirky, it’s going to be nothing short of epic! I can’t wait! ❤️

Feedback Friday - Week 5

So, Steph & Graeme wanted a secret elopement on a teeny island in the middle of a stream near Killin. Romantic, right?

Here’s what actually happened:

The stream was in fact a raging river (OK, it was a slightly faster moving stream than they had expected due to heavy rain the night before)

It’ll only be ankle-deep, they said. Lies. I was up to my knees!

At one point, I spotted a shadow in the raging river (stream) which I believe was a shark or at the very least, a crocodile! Was it a twig? We’ll never know

Then there was the fence to get to the river. The dismount on the way back to the car was not one of my finest moments. The sheep in a nearby field were judgemental! Like they could have been more graceful!

But Steph & Graeme? Absolute legends. Cool, calm, and totally up for the chaos and their wedding photos of them actually in the raging river (stream) are absolutely stunning. It was the absolute best day all round, and after I was safely back in the car, with just a slightly wet bum, the smile never left my face for the whole drive home

As if the day wasn’t special enough, they went home and named two baby chicks after my wife and me 🐥🐥. Honestly, who else gets paid to marry people, nearly wrestle a shark (twig), stare down some judgey sheep and end up as chicken royalty!

Best. Job. Ever. ❤️
