Our Story.
Chris Austwick of Austwick's Fresh Foods has been in the Clatford’s since he was 12 years old when his parents took over The Clatford Arms Pub for the following ten years. He was an early entrepreneur selling kindling to the village shop in 1970’s (back then called the beehive).
Chris and his wife and three daughters live in Anna valley where they have been for the past 36years! Talk about being local! Chris has always been a very dedicated family man and now a proud Granddad of two Grandson’s and a Granddaughter. His passion for love of cooking has been with him since a very young age of 5 years old when he would help his mother. However, as an adult he worked in the Electronics Distribution business for many years. Cooking for Chris was a stress reliever at home in which quickly before he knew it became his new full-time job.
He started small juggling his ‘day job’ and supplying to small businesses like the Clatford Village Store with help from his wonderful wife and friend. Eventually Austwick's Fresh Foods became so popular and successful he took it on full time and has since moved to a professional kitchen in Andover. Chris now has a team of employees including family members supplying to over twenty village shops, farm shops, pubs and restaurants. The produce menu he offers is ever expanding including vegetarian and vegan options too.
Whilst enjoying the simple pleasures of dog walks, weekend breaks away to the beach and Sunday family lunches. Chris Austwick and his family are very proud of how far Austwick's Fresh Foods has come along and is very excited for what is to come of the future for this family run business.
