There were so many emotional, joyful and funny moments during this ceremony that I can’t pick a favourite.

It was exactly what Meg and Tom wanted. A ceremony to reflect their love for each other, their families and their friends. It was pure joy from start to finish.

A room full of guests fully engaged because they recognised Meg and Tom’s personality in every aspect of the ceremony. We worked together to make it meaningful and memorable.

Amy and Struan chose Dorfold Hall as their wedding venue and it was the perfect setting. A stunning 17th century house and an impressive collection of modern buildings perfectly set up for the reception and celebrations.
All made even more special by some amazing suppliers.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of marrying Amy and Struan at the magnificent in Cheshire.

The ceremony was outdoors and for a moment it was touch and go with the weather. The umbrellas did appear but thankfully we didn’t need them.

It was a loving and heartfelt ceremony and exactly what they wanted. Getting going took a minute but it didn’t matter, guests chatted and the many children sat patiently. Unlike a registrar I’m focused on one couple a day, I’m not rushing off to another wedding. Plus it gave me a chance to talk to all their lovely family and friends.

I’d like to give a shout out to the staff at Dorfold - Laura, Felicity and Debbie who were so welcoming and incredibly helpful and organised.

I especially loved the teeny boxes of tic-tacs in the toilets. Too cute. 😊

The florals were stunning, all the flowers grown locally. They looked beautiful thanks to Sarah

I love and regularly turn to this book in particular.

Because in my personal life I can “be that woman” quite easily. And a lot of my friends can. The women in my life rock!

But in a profession that is dominated by women, whether that’s celebrants, florists, make up artists, venue co-ordinator, photographers, etc. it’s harder to either feel comfortable doing it or take the time to do so. But if you can - today - do me a favour and in the words of Donna “big up every woman you meet”

Yes it’s a competitive industry but again as she says in this poem “there is room for us all to be happy and successful”

Have a brilliant day wedding women, I see you and the work you do, the time you take over every job, client and instagram post. You’re all brilliant.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of marrying Natalie and David in an emotional, loving, fun filled and at times, chaotic ceremony. That’s what happens when you have a whirlwind of a flower girl, stealing the show from start to finish. But that didn’t matter to Natalie and David, in fact, it was exactly what they wanted.

In the early stages of their relationship, even before they talked about marriage, Natalie and David’s focus was on having a family. And so, it was inevitable that their gorgeous children A and L would take centre stage on their wedding day.

Family is the heart of their world and together they radiate happiness and devotion. It was important to them that the ceremony was fully inclusive and that everyone played a part. From the bride’s entrance with her father, to the reading of a poem, written especially for the couple by Natalie‘s brother. Both mum‘s played a part in the handfasting, and the little ones conducted a lucky dip to pick out witnesses from the guest list.

It was truly a day to remember and as with every ceremony, I will forever feel a deep sense of gratitude for having had the chance to play a part in Natalie and David’s wedding day.
