💖 A THROWBACK TO D&A 💖

A little guide on what to do when your wedding venue gets cancelled because it has, quite literally, flooded:

✨ Don’t panic.
✨ Find a village hall.
✨ Cover it in pink.
✨ Add sequins and disco balls.
✨ Put on the glittery pink DM's.
✨ Bring the (silent) disco.

And, it was fabulous!

In a true twist of fate, I wasn't supposed to be there as they had a registrar booked for their original venue.

Then it flooded 😱

Plans had to change. A village hall became the new venue, and somehow, the disaster that changed their plans meant I got to be their celebrant.

Maybe it was meant to happen that way. 💕

And they absolutely made that village hall their own.

There were board games (including the all-important Gremlins, naturally), tattoos, a silent disco, live music, gorgeous seed wedding favours so their guests could literally let the love grow, and approximately ALL OF THE PINK. 💗✨

There were sequins. Glittery pink DM's. Dancing (during the ceremony and after). Photos in the kids’ park. And a whole lot of joy.

And the ceremony didn’t feel like a consolation prize for the venue they’d lost. It felt completely them.

Sometimes weddings don't go to plan.

Sometimes fate gives you a completely different plan.

And sometimes the flooded venue, the village hall and the unexpected celebrant turn out to be exactly where you were supposed to end up.

I don't regularly use this platform to promote other interests, but, the whole cast has worked bloody hard on this one, so I'm making an exception.

This is the last ever show for Abergavenny Star Players before they merge with another fabulous local company, Forget Me Not Productions, to form Abergavenny Community Theatre - ACT.

Wow, wow, wow! What a Saturday for A&A's wedding at New House Country Hotel!

The hammering rain let up and the sun came out 10 minutes before the ceremony and we had an absolute blast!

Their ceremony was relaxed, fun and heartfelt in equal measure 🥰

It included:

✨A whistle stop tour of their relationship to date
✨Their beautiful children as ring bearers
✨A hilarious game of Mrs and Mrs
✨ A legal marriage reveal
✨ Bespoke vows crafted from their Couples Questionnaires and chats with yours truly

They kicked off the party in style with Sax vibes! 🎷

Another love soaked day! Such a gorgeous couple, so full of warmth, with a lush bunch of family and friends (I've used the word lush a lot today when chatting to their guests). Here's to forever 🥂💖
