A little change from the usual studio work this weekend, but this one was just too joyful to pass up. A warm celebration of food, music and community ♥️🌞♥️🌻
is a small, ultra friendly food & music festival in the village of Cassuejouls (Aveyron). On Sunday, the villagers open their homes to chefs, turning the whole village into a giant shared kitchen all around one beautiful theme: the family Sunday lunch.
The atmosphere is incredible: concerts in the village church, wild parties at Chez Colette (the village bistrot), dinners in burons, and so many beautiful people.
We cooked and served a Sunday lunch built around local produce:
- Green beans « truitato » with the trouts from Nicolas Mairinac & pickled cherries
- Côte de veau milanaise from , asparagus with harissa veal jus, roasted potatoes
- Laguiole cheese from local honeycomb and bread from
- Desserts to share (Caro Diario oblige!): chocolate cream, strawberry tart with geranium, olive oil ice cream from , chantilly, and rum baba.
I want to say thank you to François for opening his beautiful home, to Lionel & Anne for helping out, to Cindy & for the super smooth organisation, to .bonami for all the fun in the kitchen, and of course to Alexandre for the invite, the incredible energy all weekend, and the magical visit to Michel Bras’ potager this morning.
Feeling very lucky 🍀 (and it was my birthday weekend too 🙇🏾♀️🎈).
