Don’t believe anything you see on Instagram. Especially from wedding planners.

A ten-month project is judged in half a second: the perfect flowers, the perfect napkin, the perfect shot. Meanwhile, I’m thinking: Where is the insurance certificate? Is it going to rain when our Plan B is terrible? Can we launch the fireworks before 11 p.m.? And which disaster is waiting for me in the next room This job looks shallow because we work extremely hard to hide the panic.

You don’t reach this level without becoming part Superman, part accountant, part therapist and part control freak. After every event, I swear I’ll open a French bakery somewhere in Europe and disappear. Yet every year, the projects get bigger.

What keeps me going? Passion, probably. Money? There are easier ways to make more. Ego? Absolutely. I have never been popular on Instagram, and strangely, it has never stopped me from being hired. The picture may be beautiful. It is rarely the truth !

There are two types of clients in the world, those who give us the freedom to surprise them, and those who enjoy being closely involved in every creative decision. Which one do you think I prefer?

One thing is certain: if you let me express myself freely, there probably won’t be much visibility across the table. But between candlelight, music and conversation, that was never really the point anyway. What people remember isn’t the sightline. It’s how the room made them feel.

I truly appreciate this bird’s-eye view, as it captures the tablescape exactly as it was intended.

Mixing deep blue, black, chocolate brown and copper tones felt like an unusual choice, while lighter florals brought balance and softness. Add a draped tablecloth, gentle curves and candlelight, and everything falls into place.

As for the caption… given the engagement these days, we could probably write anything ✨

A beautiful couple, inside and out, who deserve all the happiness in the world and my full attention. They were hoping for a true JCV wedding, and we did our best to bring that vision to life within the unique constraints of this venue. While we embraced a somber understated palette, I also wanted to weave in touches of color to create something elegant, sensual, and full of personality. ✨
