The Hassan II Mosque. The people’s mosque.

We all know the classic shots: framing it from below to glorify its monumental scale.

As subversive as I like to think I am, I didn’t have the guts to shoot a plunging neckline right at its gates.

(Truth is, ana ma tan hchemch...she was the reasonable one here!)

But gaining height changes everything. Up here, we’re almost touching the skies.

I know this magical end of day light, when the sun softens and the breeze slowly rises through the city.

The light that lingers over the last sip of mint tea before calling you into the maze of the souks.

The light that announces Maghrib, carried by the voices of the muezzins echoing from every minaret across the city.

This light is unlike any other.

It’s the light that holds promises gently.
The light that seals a love story.
The light that turns a wedding into a memory you can almost feel forever.

And no, this light is not golden.

It’s ochre.

And that’s exactly why you come to get married in Marrakech 🖤
