THE POOL TRANSFORMATION 🙌🏼

We all love a good before & after… when we bought Château de la Couronne in 2023, the pool area was outdated, tired and closed off.

First job: out with the black breeze block wall. Then we lifted the surrounding tiles, removed the old sand, extended the pool terrace and laid a solid concrete base ready for new tiling.

We also installed a pool heater, changed from chlorine to salt water, added stylish parasols and elegant planters to finish the space.

A lot of hard work, but it’s definitely paid off 👏🏼

From the moment we had our first viewing, we were blown away- not just by how breathtaking the château is (and it is stunning), but by the warmth and care shown to us by Lucy, Charlie, and Ben. Leading up to the wedding and the weekend itself, they went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect and that we and our guests were looked after every step of the way.

The chateau food deserves its own review-it was absolutely phenomenal. Our guests still talk about it! From the incredible personalised Indian feast on Friday to the gorgeous breakfast spread each morning, and an absolute feast all day on Sunday, every meal was memorable. A small but meaningful touch I’ll never forget: preparing me a plate of fresh watermelon while I was getting ready on the wedding day!

The work the team has done on the château is extraordinary. It’s elegant, stylish, full of character, and it provided the most beautiful, romantic backdrop for the wedding of our dreams. We truly had the best day of our lives and only wish we could relive it all over again.

Just 1 hour from Limoges Airport, with easy connections from the UK and across Europe. For international guests, both Bordeaux and Paris are excellent options.

High-speed connections make travel easy:
• Bordeaux → Angoulême in just 30 minutes, then a 25-minute drive to the Chateau
• Paris → Angoulême in 1h45, then a short 25-minute drive to the Chateau

For those choosing France for a destination wedding, the sunshine is part of the dream… and the courtyard captures it perfectly throughout the day, leading seamlessly into golden hour. As the sun begins to set, cocktails start flowing from the chandelier bar, setting the tone for the evening ahead.

We’re so close to opening for the 2026 season ✨

It’s been a busy winter behind the scenes, with plenty of upgrades and exciting new additions across the château…

This winter we’ve:
– Installed a surround sound system
– Renovated the 5-bed Maison, now sleeping an extra 10 guests
– Re-landscaped the wedding gardens
– Added a full irrigation system
– Refreshed and extended the Chandelier Bar
– Brand new bridal suite bathroom
– Installed a new coffee station
– Refreshed the billiard room
– Added a new piano to the drawing room
– Reimagined the Felice Suite
– Styled the ground floor with new silk floral displays

And so much more…

We can’t wait to welcome our 2026 couples and see it all come to life 💫

Rick and Olivia were one of our very first couples after we took over Château de la Couronne in 2023. They placed an incredible amount of faith in us throughout the renovation process, and by the time their wedding weekend arrived, the transformation was truly something special.

Their wedding will always stay with us, not just because of how magical the weekend was, but because of the kind of people they are, which is something you don’t come across often.
