Suva Market Inspiring Women’s Cooperative Limited is a proudly women-led, community-driven organization made up of 20 strong, hardworking, and visionary women who serve as Suva Market vendors. These women come from diverse backgrounds but share a common purpose: to uplift their families, strengthen their livelihoods, and build a better future through unity and enterprise.
Most members of the Cooperative are the primary breadwinners in their households. They work tirelessly—balancing family responsibilities, cultural duties, and the demanding day-to-day operations of market life. Despite the many challenges faced by women in the informal and semi-formal economy, these members continue to showcase resilience, leadership, and innovation in the way they run their businesses.
The Cooperative was established with the belief that together, women can achieve more. By combining their strengths, skills, and resources, the Cooperative operates as a multi-business entity, supporting a variety of income-generating activities ranging from fresh produce and traditional crafts to oils, handmade items, and value-added products. This diversity of business ventures not only strengthens each member’s financial stability but also enhances the Cooperative’s overall economic impact.
Beyond business, the Suva Market Inspiring Women’s Cooperative is committed to capacity building and empowerment.
