XVIII International Helsinki Downtown regatta 2.-5.7.2026

The Finland biggest regatta got again almost 130 optimist and ILCA sailors from 8 different countries in Helsingfors Segelsällskap (HSS). The history of the regatta you will find: https://helsinkisailing.com/kilpailut-ja-tapahtumat/downtown-sailing-week/

In the race, four racing days was was planned but three was done in rainy, windy but also low wind weather, due to Saturday non-windy but sunny day that leads AP+A after several AP + number pennant. Sunday we started one hour earlier to manage planned daily starts.

The event was third Baltic Sea Trophy (BST) event and next week sailor caravan are heading to Estonia. This year was the first time we had four events in BST trophy.

At the beginning of May, a new stage of the Baltic Sea Trophy took place in Nida, Lithuania 🇱🇹⛵
Almost 100 young sailors from different countries came together to enjoy unforgettable days both on the water and ashore, sharing the true spirit of Opti sailing and friendship.
It was an amazing and unforgettable 4 days of racing, learning, fun, and new memories. Great winds, great people, and great emotions made this event truly special!
Thank you to everyone who made Baltic Sea Trophy in Nida such a fantastic experience — sailors, coaches, parents, and organizers. See you at the next stage! 🌊☀️
