Just as fine dining, fine traveling or fine drinking, the people we decide to surrender ourselves and to share our time, energy and feelings with, become a part of ourselves.

This is just a small selection of people that have participated along the years to making me the person I become today and keep on transforming daily.

How does Inspirational Marketing and Mice Marketing get along?

Is there a true connection or are they incompatible?

For B2C market, inspirational marketing is a must as you need to influence feelings, emotions and aspirations.

But, is it the same in B2B market, especially in the MICE Industry?

We all know that inspiration is key in all marketing strategy, no matter the audience.

🧐But is this enough for ?

We believe event professionals and decision makers need more than their emotions and feelings to be stimulated. They need specific details, they need to visualize the product and understand its suitability for their specific needs, they need to feel reliability and expertise.

What inspires you? Is it a place? Is it a thing? Is it a time or moment? Is it a person? Is it an action?

What makes your mind click and see that new perspective or focus of things?

Along the years I have heard about many wierd places and actions that stimulate inspiration as they take our mind into a dimension where it feels like blooming.

I personally get the best ideas while I shower and close to the sea (don’t ask why, I have no clue…it must be someting to do with the water probably 😅).

But as I always said, I am much better at geeting inspired than being creative, my creativity needs a starting point to bloom.

And that starting point are usually special people that I resonate with and just motivate and inspire me.

It all starts with meeting or listening to someone interesting in order to get hit by the inspiration later in the shower 😂

This morning I had a very pleasant, cozy and inspiring chat with my non-official mentor that managed to make me gain clarity on some issues I have been struggling with for a while.

So, thank you again Sabrina for being there as my friend and my personal and professional inspiration. ♥️

I should probably hurry to the shower or to the beach now to finish visualizing the ideas I got this morning 😂

This photo has a special meaning for most Easter Europeans, but it is not known in the rest of the world. So here is the story behind it:

This is called “Martisor” in Romanian and it has similar names in other Eastern European Countries.

This is a small detail that is offered to women on the 1st of March in this part of the world as we celebrate the first spring day today and this is a way of wishing health, love and happiness in the new year to come.

It can be weared pinned to your clothes or as a bracelet until end of March.

Even though I have been living in Spain for the last 17 years, my mom sends me Martisor every year and this is one of the traditions I most value and enjoy from my cultural background.

The origins of this tradition are very ancient, dating back in the Roman Empire, where New Year’s Eve was celebrated on March 1st, as the month was called in honor of the God of Mars.

Mars was the God of war and an agricultural guardian, who ensured the nature’s rebirth. Therefore the red and white colors of the string may be explained as colors the war and peace.

Somehow, this year, I feel Martisor has an even more special meaning in the current situation of Eastern Europe.❤️‍🩹

So, I would like to send a virtual Martisor to all women, as a symbol of my support and solidarity to what they are passing through, with the hope that the nightmare they are living will be over soon and peace will be restored in all our countries, as a new spring in all our hearts!

Thinking. is it overrated or underrated?

What do you think?

Today is thinking international day and I would like to celebrate the balance between overthinking and under thinking.

Everything starts with a thought and people who know me are aware in my case it is never just one thought 🤪, most of the time there is an ongoing storm of thoughts up there.

I am not sure, but I would say this is in part due to the multitasking and professional daily work of an , as you train these skills daily in this industry.

But recently I learned the importance of understanding we are not our thoughts and we need to be the one in control, not the other way around.

Once again: leisure destinations are not rules free!!

After all these year, it is still surprising to listen to ideas like:

“We would love to set up a pop up surprise dinner in Ibiza watching Es Vedra by sunset from that famous watching spot”

Yes, we can agree this is an incredible experience, but you can’t monopolize it for your event.

Public spaces are public, as their name says and cannot be privatized just like that on any request…because in this case, they wouldn’t be public anymore!! And besides they would be ruined!!

There is a concept called “a destination’s carrying capacity” which is used to monitor and maintain the balance when exploiting a destination and should be considered always.

Events have a massive impact on a destination so the ones that are in charge of planning should be the first ones in considering this!

Let’s stop treating leisure destinations as no man’s land!

Hi! My name is Iunia and I have no new year’s resolutions for 2022 💣💥

But what is an without a plan or a target? Well, it’s not exactly like that:

If I have learned something in the last two years is that I need to let life surprise me and understand what is trying to teach me.

So, I decided to be honest with myself and stop making proposals I forget or quit by March or April every year and focus on listening and understanding on what every moment and person provides so I can give or make the best out of it.

I also got to understand I don’t need any supervision of the progress I make or I fail to make, as the way I feel and relate to every new day is enough of an indicator to understand where I stand.

And I also know this way of doing things may not be the trendiest or the most productive way, but I am lucky to say that I have reached an incredible balance as a person and as a profesional by connecting to my inner self. And this is the only guidance I am willing to take now!

When you get to know yourself, you understand sometimes that standard methods do not always apply as each individual is unique!

I am now ready to board on the journey that every new day will bring!

If it’s red it’s Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻or it’s Money Heist 😉

Money Heist may be over, but its legacy will always remain.

This was probably one of the best series of the last years that managed to break many patterns due to an original story and characters.

It became an international success due to the carrousel of emotions they managed to provide with each episode.

If you think it right, there are plenty of similarities between this series and the events industry:

- There is a lot of planning
- Innovation and Creativity are the basis
- All have the courage to go beyond expectations
- Expert knowledge is key
- There are a lot of psychological games involved
- Teamwork is essential
- Each team player is an incredible professional in his field and this is what makes them the best

Each of the characters stands for a message and as eventsprofs we can learn valuable lessons that can help us be our best version as professionals and as humans.

Real life story 😃

We believe it is time to publicly acknowledge that leisure destinations for MICE are different.

You need specific knowledge to understand how they work and be able to deliver successful events.

Along the years, we were able to identify a gap between and , as most of the eventprofs come from and are used to urban destinations that are constant all year long, with punctual variations that usually depend on macro-events that are talking place.

First of all, you should know leisure destinations are cyclic, due to seasonality. And this is the peculiarity that changes it all. It determines fares, suppliers flow, limitations, additional costs, staffing challenges and many more issues you need to consider in order to avoid frustration during the planning phase and unwanted turnouts in the delivery phase.

So, instead of thinking “It can’t be that different!”, decide to look for the adequate support and learn the right way to do it!

What do you mean the hotel/venue is closed? 🧐

This is one of the most common questions a supplier has to answer in low season in the .

Yes, hotels and venues do close in winter season due to the decrease of the touristic demand.

The reality of a leisure destination is very different from an urban one, as they experience a big opening and a big shut down every year. And this is something most ignore when planning an event is such a destination.

But closing down a venue or a hotel doesn't have to be a drama, as this is an usual practice here. However, you must understand a series of things to understand how to handle and prepare your event at a venue that closes during winter.

One of the most useful resources you will be grateful for is a virtual site visit of the venue, so make sure to ask for one while the venue is opened during season so you can use it afterwards.
