JOSÉ pres. Femenino Singular EP

A1. Femenino singular
A2. Lengua de sal
B1. Comiendo con los ojos
B2. Apariencia Fantástica

Femenino Singular marks José first record under his own name, following more than 20 releases as Not A Headliner, and the first physical release on Dreams On Wax since the label began in Madrid in 2020.

Four tracks across 28 minutes, built around a transition from night into morning. Side A lives at night, Side B arrives with the morning, with the mood and meaning of each track shifting along the way.

Built with real instruments including bass, guitar, percussion and synths, the record searches for a natural swing beyond the machine’s quantized grid, moving somewhere between house and techno.

The visual identity completes the project through a collaboration with Madrid-based collective Lamworld

For the 50th release of the label, we caught up with Kim April to dig into ‘This One For You EP’ — three cuts shaped by UK influences, punchy garage drums, strong basslines and the balance between lighter grooves and heavier club energy.

“Staying close to what you genuinely like, while staying open to new ideas, is what keeps it exciting for me.” Kim talks creative process, dancefloor instinct and the influences finding their way into what comes next.

Now available exclusively via Bandcamp, landing on all digital platforms very soon.
