OK, so many of you know that I hung up my Wedding Celebrant's hat at the end of last year after 3 years of having an absolute blast.

However I still had one outstanding from an initial enquiry some two years ago when Anthony and Lorraine got in touch with me and booked me for their ceremony in May 2024.

And so yesterday's ceremony was one that had been postponed from last year due a bereavement within the brides family. Of course I could have handed it over to another celebrant to officiate but I wanted to see this through, for their sakes. And so with one last hurrah I did what I love doing and gave them a joyful, funny ceremony that was made real by all who played their role at the key moments that had been so beautifully orchestrated.

So would I ever do another wedding? Maybe, never say never, possibly for a friend of a friend but for now, I'm just going to stick to local Celebrations of Life if asked. It was great fun though! 😉

A SIMPLE WEDDING IN MADRID!

Yesterday, Steve & Meeru, along with their immediate family, had a beautiful heartfelt wedding blessing just the way they had hoped. They had travelled thousands of miles from Vancouver, Toronto, New York, and Melbourne Australia..to unite together in love.

They wanted nothing fancy (they'd both done all that before!) - their apartment would suffice for the ceremony. They had everything they wanted and needed on a day they chose to say "I do" all over again...each other, along with the people who mean the world to them! ❤️. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness together.

In the Wild West of Celebrants, how to find the one for you:

Tip 1: Take a look at their website. Does it give off a good vibe with all the information you need?
Tip 2: Look at their reviews on Google and read through to see if they sound like the real deal and therefore could be your ideal celebrant (mine are smokin'..just saying! 😉)
Tip 3: Arrange a video call with them to see whether they have good energy and whether you click with them, afterall, you'll probably want someone who you think your guests are going to warm to also.

There are other factors of course, but first and foremost I'd say just go with your gut, and you won't go wrong! Good luck!

Sometimes you just have to give yourself a big pat on the back 🙌 My journey as a Celebrant started in October 2021 after successfully completing my training. Although I was super nervous before officiating my very first ceremony, you would never have known. My previous job had given me all the necessary skills and credentials to be able to think on my feet and remain calm no matter what, which has definitely come in handy at times!

Now with around 50 ceremonies under my belt and with currently *FORTY FIVE* - 5 star⭐ Reviews on Google (some were funerals and not everyone wants to review a funeral) I have decided to give myself credit where credit is due.

Why do I get great reviews? Honestly, because I decided very early on NOT to try and emulate other great celebrants I know but remain true to myself and that will shine through. I ALWAYS put in 100% effort into EVERY couple so that their ceremony is spot on! Oh...and have I ever mentioned before that I'm a pretty fab natural storyteller too?! 😉
